COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
New Zealands first great beer.
The original ‘Black Budget’ beating beer. It’s the beer that not only took on a Government but also took on the best beers in the world and won. The first New Zealand beer to win Best Beer in the World in any class at the International Brewing Awards in 1968. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the original DB Export Beer is once again available for your drinking pleasure, at an agreeably affordable price. Available as a two-pack of 745ml quart bottles at any good beer retailer, or over the bar in NZ’s finest establishments for a limited time. Don’t miss your opportunity to try New Zealand’s first great beer.

So, winner of the brewers exhibition in London 42 years ago. I’ve been expecting you (strokes cat). Aroma is less swinging than I hoped. Taste is a little bit like the man has caught you being a miscreant. No mini-skirts here either. Promises a lot in the package but winds up being a little underwhelming. Golden pretty tho, which is a plus.

Bright orangein colour with big white head, malty aroma, sweet. Sweet malty flavour, no bitterness. Marketing department brew!!!

Points for nostalga, points off for moden day appeal. Reminds me of 30+ years ago stealing fathers and uncles beer when they wern’t looking. Very sweet but has aroma and a taste of olden days. Can’t wait for the Vita Stout re-launch....that would get me excited.
