HugoPotomus (8), New Zealand does not count Jun 29, 2008 Stout lite maybe. Pours dark with little head. Aroma toasted malt and no hop, tastes like it smells, but sweeter, quite sickly. On the positive side, does not have the DB brewed in five minutes ether finish. biz82 (1325), austin, Texas, USA Feb 28, 2007 Low carbonation, very dark brown. Low roast flavor, slight crystal flavor. Sweet and sour finish. yalnikim (666), Wellington, New Zealand Feb 15, 2005 Tasted 15/02/2005. 330ml stubbie from Tupelo.
Pour an inky brown-black with tan lacing but little head (though the dodgy dark bar makes it difficult to fairly judge colour). Slight roasted malt and toasted 5 grain bread aroma. The light and fairly effervescent mouthfeel holds a simple sweet roasted malt flavour with liquorice and medium bitterness. Palate is reasonably clean - slightly bittersweet with some residual aniseed from the liquorice flavour.
Interesting kitsch label. motelpogo (4124), Plzen, Czech Republic Jan 13, 2004 i couldn't really get beyong the licorice allsorts flavour in this one. ridiculously sweet, boiled caramel lollies eczematic (1170), Sydney, Australia Jan 7, 2004 one dimensional licorice allsort/milko sweetness. a bit of a fossil it seems. pretty cool disingenuous marketing.
