Model Citizen is the second beer DC Brau has made with legendary Ska band “The Pietasters” Our first collaborative effort with Ska Brewing and the band was named "Tasters Choice", a name inspired by a song title. This collaboration was named in the same manner. "Model Citizen" is the name of a track off the band’s first studio album, released in 1993. This beer will debut at the iconic Washington DC music venue Nightclub 9:30 on December 14th for The Pietasters Holiday Show.

Love me a nice cream ale and this one was very nicely done. I like DC Brau and i like SKA so i am glad to report that it met my expectations pretty well. Smooth and creamy with a good body.

A pretty okay cream ale. Thick on the tongue, some grass and wheat and honey. Tried at the pietasters beer festival in 2014.

Keg @ Sedona. Of course Drake rated this before I did. The pour’s deep gold with a modest white head. The nose is pretty gain. Toasted white bread, lightly honeyed apple, breakfast cereal. The taste is super clean apple tart. Dry earthy grain cuts the white fruit sweetness. Light body, soft carb. Pretty dry. Enjoyable.

Draft at Sedona, Charlottesville. Pours a clear vibrant golden color with a large creamy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of dusty corn, floral notes and grassy hops. The taste is strong corn, some roasted corn notes, pale malts and a grassy finish. Thin-medium bodied.

Draft. Poured a pale gold. Grainy, biscuit, light honey, slightly grassy. I’m not a good judge of cream ales, particularly after my taste buds were scalded by their holiday ale. I’m going to give this one the benefit of the doubt.

Growler from the brewery. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Tastes malty and bready, like grains, barley, not much other flavor. Light body and low carbonation. Smells musky and like grains.
