COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our first collaboration with Right Proper! It’s Bęte Noire (Dark Beast) Baltic Porter. Our collaboration is characterized by a wonderful dark brown color with smoky and roasted brown malts with a complex bitter taste!

Growler shared by Gene at the RBWG 2014 grand tasting, thanks! Pours a clear brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a musty dark grain note with light roasted malts backing. Flavor has more roasted malts and chocolate with a smooth dark grain finish.

Growler generously shared at the RBWG grand tasting. Slightly bitter earthy notes with pine needles and moderate cocoa sweetness. Slightly prickly, with the cocoa helping things out a bit.

Growler shared by Travlr. Pours clear black with a medium, frothy beige head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is light roast malt, chocolate, dark candi sugar, figs and dates with faint earthy hops. Flavor is sweet malt dominant, light dark malt notes, candi sugar, light hops and bitterness, spicy alcohol and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

Draft at Whole Foods Short Pump, 12/1/13. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, tart fruits, earth. The taste is chocolate, roasted malts, mild earth. Medium bodied, slightly sweet. Nice beer.

Draft at Rustico - Alexandria. Poured a near pitch black color, maybe extremely dark brown color, medium sized tan head. Aroma was dark roasted malts, plenty of nice fruity notes. Some coffee notes, bitterness. Flavor was nice, creamy chocolates, coffee, anise notes. Very very drinkable.

12oz pour at the brewery. Inky black with one ring of white head. Nose is excellent, chocolate, molasses, malt, toast, licorice. Flavor has a lot of licorice but not overly sweet, dark chocolate, malt, toast, coffee. Full, dry finish. Lovely.

Draft. Pours very dark brown with a thin beige head. Tastes like coffee, smoked meat, and burnt toast. Light body and low/medium carbonation. Smells smokey, burnt, like coffe, toast, and meat.

Tap. Nearly black, but really mahogany brown. Rally roasty aroma, toast, slight plum an chocolate. Flavor is very similar, roasty, dry but nice dark fruit and dark bitter chocolate. Medium to thin body.

Tap at Meridian Pint. Pours deep, dark brown with creamy off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, earthy hops, light ash, chocolate, plums, and faint vanilla. Flavor is roast malt base with chocolate, faint coffee, dark fruit esters, and light hop bitterness; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.
