3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Meridian Pint for the DC Brau 3rd Anniversary party. Poured a slightly hazy orange color with a medium white head. Aroma was notes of nice sweet grapes, some light citrus, wheat and grain notes, a touch of light funk. Flavor was nice, grape, citrus, and light grains. Highly drinkable and enjoyable. I still haven’t had the base beer yet.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Paradiso Dupont. Pours a hazy orange with one ring of white head. Nose is interesting, dried lemon peel, straw, white grape, some candy sugar, lightly herbal. Flavor has a sweetness I don’t recall in the original version, white grape, a little grappa, some wood pulp, lemon, grapefruit peel, malt. Slightly thick, sweet, astringent finish. Very good barrel treatment. This is not like the original.
