Cask at Churchkey. Black pour with a very thin and bubbly light brown head. Nose holds big vanila barrely presence, along with sweet chocolate and roasted malt. The chicory and rye spiciness really comes through on the tongue, along with increased levels of chocolate and vanilla. The sweetness mixes with the spicy dryness quite effectively. Nice stuff.

Pours black, no head. Smell is mostly bourbon, with very few beer characteristics. Taste is pretty similar. It could be a nice bourbon treat, but it doesn’t feel much like a beer to me.

Draft at Churchkey. Poured a pitch black color with a dark brown foamy head. Aroma was instantly bourbon barrel, though that’s about it - touch of roasted malts. Flavor was bourbon, with notes of light roasted malts. Very smooth, enojoyable to consume. Lower abv really worked out here.

Draft served by the monks at Churchkey. Black, no head or lacing. Aroma of whiskey and vanilla. Taste is similar. The whiskey overwhelms the beer characteristics.
