COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We crafted our fond farewell to summer as a collaboration with John Solomon and Chris Frashier. The pair are well known for their fine (and tasty!) work at Old Dominion in Ashburn, VA, during the mid 90’s.

"EL HEFE SPEAKS!" is a traditionally brewed German-style Hefe. It is fermented around 65° F and hopped with German Tettnang hops. 11 IBUs and 5.3% ABV make this one extremely drinkable. Perfect for the start of September.

A-spot in German Hefe aroma with a slight sweetness T-nice wheat base with a slight caramel. Appearance is the nice cloudy gold you look for with a 1" white head that didn’t last long. A little dry after its fine

On draft at Churchkey in D.C. The beer is hazy and yellow hued, with a half inch of fluffy, white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. The aroma is pleasant, but understated, even weak. Fortunately, the flavor picks up the slack a bit. Nice balance, with soft wheat malt and light notes of banana and clove. This beer really shines in the mouthfeel category. Creamy, soft, and smooth, this brew goes down effortlessly. Overall, a solid brew. It’s a good omen to see more quality brews emerging from our relatively new local brewery. Thanks to tastybeer for sharing this during an impromptu tasting. This is a fine example of a light summer beer that is about halfway along the spectrum of banana and yeast. I don’t know if it is a one off or a seasonal but check it out anyways.

Aroma / Appearance - A cloudy orange body shimmers with light. A clean crisp white head is bright like white frosting. Sweet oranges and banana esters provide a tangy bite that feels like whipped ice cream.

Flavor / Palate - Orange creamsicle, yeast, banana nut bread, and chocolate chips sweeten the palate before a dry finish that offers yeasty promises. This is the sort of thing I think of when someone says German hefeweizen even if it comes from the East Coast of the United States.

Location: 22 oz bottle from jcos, 9/3/12

Aroma: The aroma has banana and citrus fruit, a good amount of spice/clove, wheat, and yeast
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a small white head and no lace
Flavor: The taste has a lot of traditional hefeweizen sweetness, with a nice amount of balancing spice
Palate: The body is medium (though it feels fuller for this style) with a fairly tingly carbonation
Overall Impression: To me this was a more then solid example of the German Hefe style. It is drinkable and refreshing. I really didn’t find any major qualms, but at the same time, I didn’t find all that much to make it a standout beer.

Bottle, 07/22/2012. Pours cloudy yellow orange, sparse bubbly head. Aroma of clove, banana and bubblegum, nice wheat underpinning. Taste has clove, more of a citrus character, light banana and mild wheat finish. Light palate, goes down easy.
