COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We crafted our fond farewell to summer as a collaboration with John Solomon and Chris Frashier. The pair are well known for their fine (and tasty!) work at Old Dominion in Ashburn, VA, during the mid 90’s.

"EL HEFE SPEAKS!" is a traditionally brewed German-style Hefe. It is fermented around 65° F and hopped with German Tettnang hops. 11 IBUs and 5.3% ABV make this one extremely drinkable. Perfect for the start of September.

Tap at Churchkey. Cloudy yellow pour with a small somewhat frothy head. Aroma holds good clove, bubblegum, spice, dry wheat, and a touch of peach sweetness. Flavor is much of the same, with a nice refreshing palate. Very drinkable. Nice effort at the style.

On tap at Churchkey. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a very cloudy bright yellow color with a very nice white head and plenty of lacing on the way down. Great retention. The nose is fairly tame, bringing notes of light clove and bubblegum. Mild wheat comes through in the flavor in addition to the traditional German yeast presence. Light body and slightly chewy with good carbonation. Finish asks you to drink more. Pretty good overall and a nice first attempt at a German style.

Tap at Paradiso Dupont. Pours a very cloudy to opaque creamsickle light orange with a medium, bright white head. Decent lace rings. Nose is toilet cleaner with weak phenolic hefe yeast. Yellow apple dominates. Taste is soapy and suddy with major yellow apples. Yellow apple skins for bitterness. Not too clove heavy, ie weak in yeast profile with not really an aggressive head formation and explosion of yeast in the nose. Feels like a small upgrade from Blue Moon and not different enough from the The Citizen to warrant a new beer for the lineup. Palate gets a little buttery. Hard to down quickly especially with a giant 20oz pour in a weizen glass.
