We crafted our fond farewell to summer as a collaboration with John Solomon and Chris Frashier. The pair are well known for their fine (and tasty!) work at Old Dominion in Ashburn, VA, during the mid 90’s.

"EL HEFE SPEAKS!" is a traditionally brewed German-style Hefe. It is fermented around 65° F and hopped with German Tettnang hops. 11 IBUs and 5.3% ABV make this one extremely drinkable. Perfect for the start of September.

Can, courtesy of Travlr - Thanks! Cloudy yellow, decent head. Nice aroma - banana, and some nice hops, too. Fairly full bodied. Flavor is nice sweet malts, some banana and bubblegum, and finishes with grassy hops.

Hazy straw color with white head. Lots of wheat and yeast in aroma (like pizza dough). Medium to low carbonation, sweet malt/wheat and orange citrus. Some mild spicyness and slight bittering in the finish. Too sweet for my taste, but nothing off or offensive.

Can from Whole foods Plymouth. Hazy gold pour with white head. Pale malt, banana, spice, florals in the nose, with that citric, limey, pale malty, bubblegum flavor. Solid.

Can @ some political party event in DC. Hey, any candidate that serves DC Brau’s got my attention. Golden pour with a modest white hear. Has the whole banana and white bread thing going for it. White pepper and pears. Clove. Just a touch of herbal hops to keep things interesting. Similar flavor. A touch of sweet banana bread and almonds. Slightly grassy dryness on the finish. Light and pretty easy to drink. Not bad at all.

Can, PLEASE PLEASE ME DOB 07/03/2014, so pretty fresh. Nose of wheat slime and stale tire air, some bad yeast juju for sure. Pours rich golden with abundant but very slow-moving carbonation, a dense creamy white head. Taste is better, light bitterness and moderately dry, grainy wheat and pils malt character, some lemon cleaner and zest, some faint vanilla, but sure not bringing much in the way of esters or phenols, and the stale air bit is still there. Refreshing after a long day, but not reaching for another when so many better examples are easily available.

Can. Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Wheaty aroma with a hint of lemon zest. Smooth, banana flavor with a strong sense of wheat and malt. A little lemon finish. Very drinkable and delightful.
