COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We crafted our fond farewell to summer as a collaboration with John Solomon and Chris Frashier. The pair are well known for their fine (and tasty!) work at Old Dominion in Ashburn, VA, during the mid 90’s.

"EL HEFE SPEAKS!" is a traditionally brewed German-style Hefe. It is fermented around 65° F and hopped with German Tettnang hops. 11 IBUs and 5.3% ABV make this one extremely drinkable. Perfect for the start of September.

Pours a hazy golden with a half finger of head. Nose is Hefe notes, lemon, wheat, coriander. Taste matches nose, almost has a salty gose kinda thing going on, lots of lemon, coriander spice ogn is mild, tart note, conspicuously missing banana. It's a little rough around the edges , but I appreciate a different take on the classic hefe. Drinkable and solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured out from can. Hazy golden-amber with a 3-finger white head. Aroma of banana esters mixed with black pepper. Body is light, with a fizziness that lingers in the finish on the tip of the tongue. Flavor is lemony and grassy, with notes of yeast and black pepper. Just OK.

Poured from can from cellar (54F). Pours a very slightly hazy pale yellow with a huge thick head (at least 4 fingers). Aroma is very traditional hefeweizen - tart lemon, a touch of funk, and wheat. Taste is very traditional as well - nice tartness, bit of funk, yeast, clove, slight touch of banana. Carbonation is nice and fizzy on the tongue. Overall this is very refreshing and makes me think of a summer day on the back porch.

Slightly hazed, light, yellow gold with a small, white head. Wheaty, Belgian yeast, funky aroma. Taste is sweet lemon, yeast, barnyard. Tasty, but a bit off-style.

Can courtesy of Travlr - shared with shrubber85. Musty barnyard, lactic lemon aroma. Hazy golden yellow with a moderate white head. Funky barnyard, Belgian yeast, and wheat malt flavor. Medium boyd, moderate carbonation. Drinks more like a saison than a hef.

Can (courtesy of Travlr). Funky lactic lemon malt aroma. Medium yellow with moderate head. Moderately dry lemon peel, Belgian yeast, and wheat malt aroma. Very nice beer but tastes like a Saison.

Can thanks to WillRunForBeer. Pours a cloudy golden-yellow with a small head that fades quickly and leaves some lacing. Aromas are very grainy wheat, fruity esters, pepper and coriander. Taste is fairly sweet. Lots of fruitiness, bananas, flowers, and lemons with a spicy finish. Fizzy carbonation. Good hefe.

Pours a slightly hazy gold with a minimal white head. Smells of wheat, pepper, coriander - hint of fruit. Taste is sweet and mildly bitter - mildly spiced, bit of fruity tang.

Can: goldenrod with a light haze, more akin to a chill haze than abundant yeast. Lightly chunky & foamy white head settles to a swampy skin after a minute or so, not much lacing left behind. Very mild aroma; light hefe yeast, bread, faint banana-like esters, and some dirty & grainy wheat. Taste is very estery & it mixes with the hops to give off a combo of earth, florals, & perfume. Pleasingly bitter. Wheat, bread, & light banana sweetness in the finish. Mild phenol notes. Body isn’t as big or chunky as I’d like for the style.
