Bottle into my DC Brau tulip. "Bottled in 2012"
Appearance: Pours a hazy but beautifully glowing orange with a one finger white head. sticky lacing and decent retention.
Aroma: Fresh grapefruit citrusy hops.
Taste: Lots of grapefruit citrusy hops Very fresh and tropical with some pine notes showing up. Dry biscuity malt, although there isn’t much to speak of. not complaining though. Plenty of flavor in this one. Not too complex. Excellently balanced. Flavors are so crisp and refreshing.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Perfect carbonation. Smooth and a fantastic bitter finish. Another fantastic brew from what is quickly becoming the best local brewery. Shout out to my man Chad for the hook up on this one. I love trying DC Brau’s beers.

On tap at Paradiso Dupont. $3 pint at happy hour, can’t beat that. 12ox glass pours a hazy orange with a lacing, white head. Nose is fruity, tropical fruit, grapefruit, juicy, oranges, a little light malt, pine resin. Flavor is bitter, fruity, mango, peach, pineapple, grapefruit, lemons, tangelo. Malty backbone is there to support it all too. Full bodied, bitter but not abrasive finish. I really enjoyed this. If they canned this, I would drink a ton of it. Very impressive.

This beer was on tap at Afterwords Cafe. Slightly cloudy golden color modest head and some lacing, nice hops aroma very peppery with a significant astringgent finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 GT2 (3961) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 1, 2012
Tap at Paradiso DuPont. Fully cloudy, glowing orange with smaller , thick buttermilk foam. Nice retention. Fresh line and herbal nose. Mildly fruity. Taste up front is cantaloupe and overripe pineapple tropical fruit moving to thick sap and piney, resinous hops. Palate is tangy, drier, very bitter getting a touch too sticky. Not really quenching. Quite aggressive with moderate to thick mouthfeel. Not bad. No flaws thankfully. Decent to excessive soapy hop bitterness.

Clear copper pour with a sudsy white head. Herbal marijuana and onion like garlic with cheesy dankness in the nose lead to citrus peel and earthen bitterness. Medium to full body for the style with a dry sappy finish.

Serving: Draft at RFD. The nose is a blast of big, sticky, herbal hops. The flavor doesn’t disappoint either. Lots of big herbal and catty hop notes on a medium bodied brew with a lasting bitter finish. This is one tasty IIPA, definitely worth a go.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 lamas (1069) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Growler straight from the brewery. A clear copper pour with a thick and fluffy beige head that leaves chunks of lacing behind. A pungent aroma of fresh pine, grapefruits, zesty citrus rinds, spiciness, and some biscuity maltiness in the background. Full-bodied and strangely oily. A big bready maltiness along with plenty of caramel upfront taste-wise. Pumpernickel and wheat. Lots of grapefruits and zesty citrus rinds at the end. Overly ripe pineapple. A bitter and drying finish that lingers. Spicy. Resiny. Some warming alcohol throughout. Remarkably well-balanced for such a big beer. Tasty.

Draft. Pour is orange with a small white head, excellent lace, little retention. Aroma of dank hops, pine, citrus, caramel malt. Taste is intense grapefruit/pine hops, moderately sweet. Palate is oily, good carbonation, bitter finish. Better malt/hop balance than Corruption and Public.

Growler courtesy of drabmuh. Served in a DC Brau cervoise. Pours a hazed light copper color with a very nice white head. Plenty of sticky lacing on the way down and great retention. The nose carries some heavy pine and citrus hops. Hop overload going on. The onslaught continues into the flavor with a very heavy citrus rind and pine presence. Really great balance between the different characteristics. Light-medium body with crisp carbonation and a nice dry, bitter finish. Very, very solid. By far the best DC Brau beer to date.
