And so it was written.......
According to Mayan and Hopi calendars the "transition from one world age to another" will happen on December 21, 2012. As an homage to the "transition" DC Brau has concocted an Imperial IPA named "On the Wings of Armageddon".

12 oz.can, courtesy of DCLawyer. Thank You Sir. Poured a lovely blood orange, slightly hazed, with a 1/4" ecru head that retreated rather quickly. Not much in the way of lace. Nice, dank, earthy hop aroma. Flavor is a bit more malty than the aroma would suggest. Semi sweet, but still enough hop bitterness so you donít forget youíre drinking a Dipa. Well balanced. Alcohol is subtle. Body is to the full side with a lingering mildly bitter aftertaste. Nice!

appearance: carefully poured--clear gold, a finger of creamy-to-frothy light tan-to-orange head; good lacing. aroma: blast of hops--citrus (grapefruit), pine (&resin), plus some dank, catty notes; malt is in the vein of floral honey and graham crackers. taste: syrupy-semi-sweet malts (honey and caramel) quickly overpowered by a tidal wave of dank, citrus, and tropical hops. finish: incredibly bitter, chewy palate, lingering grapefruit, pineapple, and pine. notes: Lest I incur the wrath of the commentariat, Iíll just say it wasnít for me. Too far out of balance for my tastes. Big, complex, and well done, just wouldnít try again. More for the rest of you! Can courtesy of Derek at Beerble study.

Taster at Reds... Clear gold with white head. Abundant citrus and floral notes on the nose and palate. Balanced smooth slightly bitter finish... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

September 25, 2015. Can at SBWF.
Cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity with peach, orange, pine, resin, hints of toffee and some weird glue/rubber notes. Taste is medium sweet, fruity, medium bitter. Finish is bitter with some piney notes, sweet malt and peach in the background, again some off-notes in the finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation.
Guess I had a bad can, need to revisit.

Excellently complex yet balanced, citrus, hops, sweet malt, would buy again but space 2x IPA gives it a big run

12oz can pours a hazy pale brown color with a bit of head. Thick maltiness that doesn't overpower. Some tropical hop flavors. Hops and malt balance nicely.

Can via Sloth in trade. Rich and deeply malty, this sucker creeps up on you and lets you know that you are done for the night about halfway thru the glass. Consumed on my porch... which should be an UNESCO world heritage site. A perfect way to end a mental stress laden day. Bert!

Cloudy orange beer with a medium bright white head. Resinous nose of pine, orange pith, and candle wax. Flavor is more of the same with juicy citrus, pine resin, and mandarin orange over a fairly sweet malty core. Not incredibly bitter, but full of hop flavor, this is a solid IPA that hides its alcohol content well.
