And so it was written.......
According to Mayan and Hopi calendars the "transition from one world age to another" will happen on December 21, 2012. As an homage to the "transition" DC Brau has concocted an Imperial IPA named "On the Wings of Armageddon".

10-MAY-2014, draft @the brewery and updated to reflect the tastings of the cans I bought the same place. Slightly hazy orange with lasting off-white head. Aroma is fruit, cheese, grape fruit and pine. Taste the same. with over ripe apples and peach - a little cedar-thing as well. Alcohol is present. Not super bitter despite 115 IBU’s. The can version seems a bit better than the far too fresh draft. The can is not so cheasy and it is far more liqour-like - orange-liqour:-) Huge body, sweet but not a lot. Very bitter and long aftertaste. Lovely. Thanks, Mike for sharing @DC Brau.

Can received in trade, dated April 11, 2014. Into a tulip. The appearance has a hazy copper/brown color with a one finger white foamy head that once it dies there’s some sporadic lacing. The smell bittersweet citrus hops to caramel malts almost perfectly combined. The taste is bittersweet once again through the previously mentioned flavors. On the palate, it sits about a medium on the body with a modestly dosed coating of caramel to citrus hops laying across my mouth and tongue. Overall, in my opinion, this is a great DIPA well worthy of having again. I had another can and thought it was excellent with some tuna and crackers.

Hazy golden amber pour with a thin white head and light sticky lacing .... aroma of piney and grapefruity hops, resiny and oranges ..... taste is piney and resiny with a nice rindy orange/grapefruity hop and a caramel malt backbone .... mouthfeel is bitter, oily, and lively with a long bitter resiny finish .... definitely up there in the IBU department ABV hidden well .... solid dbl ipa

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2014 Can thanks to Alemax. Pours hazy burnt orange with rapidly settling off-white head. Aroma is resinous, piney, lightly skunky hops, mild malt in background. Flavor is bitter hops up front, fading into resinous, lightly piney hops, sweet malt finish, light caramelized sugar, with a bitter, piney aftertaste. Moderate carbonation, medium body, and crisp texture.

Poured medium amber with some sticky off white head that clings to the glass well. Hazy with some yeasty chunkies floating around after the pour. Nose is a mixed does of of hops. Floral, citrus, pines, fruits, some sweet resinous pines that blend with sticky sweet caramel malts. Damn solid. A touch on the caramel side but good. Could back of the caramel malts.

Fresh can. Pours muddy orange with quarter inch head, slight retention. Aroma is bread dough, bubblegum, orange zest. Taste is spicy, lots of resin/pine character, some miscellaneous citrus, and some Belgian – like spiciness. Some slight Caramel tones to the malt add a nice background sweetness, but you have to look for it. Very subtle. Lingering bitterness on the tongue… This one coats the whole mouth and lingers for a while. A great double IPA.

Approximately 3 oz. pour from a 12 oz. can, provided by falco242. Consumed on 4-19-14. Pours a clear brass/amber with a large amount of taupe head. Produces good lacing. Smells great: Pine, butterscotch. Vanilla, lemon, and salt flavors. Medium body. Soft and reasonably lively in the palate. Really good overall.

Great golden color and lace. Lots of caramel and butterscotch (thanks Gaucho!) and malt and the piney hips are noticable on the backend. Really solid overall.

Can. Butterscotch in the nose. Smells just like an O’so beer. Hazy amber body. Thin head. Much more rich than I expected from the aroma. Better than the O’so beer but similar.
