According to Mayan and Hopi calendars the "transition from one world age to another" will happen on December 21, 2012. As an homage to the "transition" DC Brau has concocted an Imperial IPA named "On the Wings of Armageddon".

Poured medium amber with some sticky off white head that clings to the glass well. Hazy with some yeasty chunkies floating around after the pour. Nose is a mixed does of of hops. Floral, citrus, pines, fruits, some sweet resinous pines that blend with sticky sweet caramel malts. Damn solid. A touch on the caramel side but good. Could back of the caramel malts.

Fresh can. Pours muddy orange with quarter inch head, slight retention. Aroma is bread dough, bubblegum, orange zest. Taste is spicy, lots of resin/pine character, some miscellaneous citrus, and some Belgian – like spiciness. Some slight Caramel tones to the malt add a nice background sweetness, but you have to look for it. Very subtle. Lingering bitterness on the tongue… This one coats the whole mouth and lingers for a while. A great double IPA.

Approximately 3 oz. pour from a 12 oz. can, provided by falco242. Consumed on 4-19-14. Pours a clear brass/amber with a large amount of taupe head. Produces good lacing. Smells great: Pine, butterscotch. Vanilla, lemon, and salt flavors. Medium body. Soft and reasonably lively in the palate. Really good overall.

Great golden color and lace. Lots of caramel and butterscotch (thanks Gaucho!) and malt and the piney hips are noticable on the backend. Really solid overall.

Can. Butterscotch in the nose. Smells just like an O’so beer. Hazy amber body. Thin head. Much more rich than I expected from the aroma. Better than the O’so beer but similar.

Nice booze, caramelized malt and hops here. Pours cloudy orange with good head and lacing. Some light florals caused by mix between alcohol and high hops. Citrus. Can.

Hoppy, piney or herbal aromas. Dry, herbal, sweet caramel or honey notes. Round, smooth, velvet body. Oh so good.

Pours a hazy reddish copper color with a sticky dissipating foam head that hugs my glass. The aroma is of earthy, citrus, and piney hops with a rich carmel malt tones. In tasting I noticed mild bitterness, sweet carmel and honey malt flavor, and an herbal hop taste. The finish was very good and drinkable with a subtle dryness and a soft lingering bitterness. Overall a fine beverage to drink. I would have this again.

Kurmaraja hooked this can up as an extra when he was just doing me a favor. Ryan is a cool cat.. I appreciate it amigo. 12oz can poured into my Stone Tap-Takeover goblet.. 2 finger off white head.. huge retention and lacing.. the brew is clear orange/amber. Grassy/citrus hoppiness on the nose is muted by way too much pale malt and even a bit of a biscuity/lite caramel maltiness.. very malt forward for a DIPA. Flavor pretty much mirrors the nose.. not a big enough bitter profile to balance the bigger than expected malts.. I would like waaay more hop presence and a much drier brew. Body is too heavy and the carbonation seems too light. Decent brew, but it definitely seems "East Coast".... too much residual maltiness and not nearly enough big-boned hoppiness.
