3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Kurmaraja hooked this can up as an extra when he was just doing me a favor. Ryan is a cool cat.. I appreciate it amigo.
12oz can poured into my Stone Tap-Takeover goblet.. 2 finger off white head.. huge retention and lacing.. the brew is clear orange/amber.
Grassy/citrus hoppiness on the nose is muted by way too much pale malt and even a bit of a biscuity/lite caramel maltiness.. very malt forward for a DIPA.
Flavor pretty much mirrors the nose.. not a big enough bitter profile to balance the bigger than expected malts.. I would like waaay more hop presence and a much drier brew.
Body is too heavy and the carbonation seems too light.
Decent brew, but it definitely seems "East Coast".... too much residual maltiness and not nearly enough big-boned hoppiness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Where: Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro. How: draft snifter pour. Appearance is cloudy and golden yellowish, small off white head. Aroma is citrus and floral hops, a little grapefruit and lemon. Taste was very malty, not as much hops as I thought there would be. Palate was medium. Overall was a little underwhelmed, not sure if the pour I got was a bit muddled. Need to try again sometime, just in case this was just a bad pour.

Many thanks to travlr for this can! Nice intense floral and not too sticky Imperial IPA. Nice darker floralness, pine, resin combined with hints of sweetish malt. Nice and round, full-bodied with nice hop-character. Good example of this style!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy, yellow-orange colour with medium head and nice lacing. Very intensive and long lasting aroma of citrus and exotic fruits (lots of grapefruit, mango, peaches), some floral and piney notes. Awesome in aroma! Taste is medium sweet, medium to heavy bitter with long balanced finish. Full body. Aboslutely fantastic imperial IPA, perfectly balanced and highly drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Into a tulip showing a well filtered amber with no head.
The nose shows a lot of intense dry pine and cannabis.
The palate shows a lot of the same flavors with a very sharp and cutting pine. Light bodied, well carbonated, and a moderate bitterness.

(Thanks, Gene! "Travlr")
A- Juicy, citrus, caramel, bitter, malty.
A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, tan head.
T- Citrus, bready, caramel, malty, bitter, juicy, balanced, chewy.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.
O- Not knowing a lot about this beer going into it I imagined a very bitter and aggressive IPA. I was wrong in the best way possible. Very balanced with a nice citrus, bitter, malty combination. Didn’t like the yeast floating around in there but that can be overlooked.
