Draft pour at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont. Aroma was nice roasted malts, light coffee. Mild. Flavor is nice and robust though. Lightly roasted coffee, nice toffee, malts. Nice and dry. Quite sessionable and enjoyable.

Draft. Brown-black body with tan edge, medium tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, coffee/espresso, some milk chocolate, roast. Taste is moderately sweet, coffee, some roast, light bittersweet chocolate. Light-medium body.

Draft at the brewery. Black with a thin tan head. Burnt toast, light bitter coffee, overly roasted malt. Described by bartender as an oatmeal stout. If so, then it’s all wrong: thin body, astringent finish. No creaminess, and not smooth.

Tap. Khaki frothy head, on a dark black body. Touches of burlap, toasty, slight coffee, bitter chocolate and slight sweetness in the aroma. Flavor is nicely dry. Dark roasted coffee, slight oat sweetness, and finishes dry. Lighter to medium body.

Flavor is dry roast base with some chocolate, woody notes, faint earthy bitterness, and faint dried fruit; dry, roast finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Growler from the brewery. Pours opaque dark brown with a thick frothy tan head and lots of lacing. Tastes like dry coffee, very bitter, burnt toast. Light body and low/medium carbonation. Smells like burnt coffee, bready.

Blah! Draft at Pizzaria Paradiso Dupont Circle in DC. Nice looking dark beer with a nice tan head. Roasted malt nose. Hopped like a black IPA, not the body you would expect from an oatmeal stout - thin. Bitter.

32oz growler pours an inky black, with some creamy beige head. Nose is really nice, malty, toast, coffee, roasty, earthy. Flavor is malty, bread crust, toast, coffee beans. Super smooth, dry finish. Really solid.
