coolpop (1394) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - DEC 30, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Black with a thin tan head. Burnt toast, light bitter coffee, overly roasted malt. Described by bartender as an oatmeal stout. If so, then it’s all wrong: thin body, astringent finish. No creaminess, and not smooth.

Bacterial (1679) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - DEC 19, 2013
Blah! Draft at Pizzaria Paradiso Dupont Circle in DC. Nice looking dark beer with a nice tan head. Roasted malt nose. Hopped like a black IPA, not the body you would expect from an oatmeal stout - thin. Bitter.
