Penn Quarter Porter is our first in a line of draft-only limited-release beer, and it’s a robust porter! In the way that The Public is on the line between a pale ale and an IPA, this is on the line between a porter and a stout - with chocolate notes and a dry, roasted finish.

Dark, roasty malt with toast, burnt caramel coffee, and char. Long and smooth finish. A bare hint of hops with a bit of crispness. A great porter, amazing for a can.

Can... Black pour with a mid-sized, creamy, lightly tan head. Good retention. The bouquet is a luxuriant, malty swirl of brownie crusts, toasted almonds, pistachios and vanilla. Medium-bodied and oily with tickling carbonation. The hearty flavor is a marriage of roasty espresso and dark chocolate mocha. Robust, burnt, unsweetened-cocoa aftertaste. Can courtesy of ctipping!

Can courtesy of DandyWolfFloyd, thanks man! Dark brown almost black pour with a light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is coffee and cocoa with a nice malt backbone. Fairly light almost thin body but the flavor is all there. Very drinkable.

Draft at Klobys. Pours very dark opaque brown with a creamy light brown head. Tastes like very roasted, very burnt coffee beans and toast. Bitter with a dry feel. Lightly earthy. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells earthy and like booze and roasted grains.

From a can into a pint glass. Pours a ridiculously dark black! Coffee aroma all the way. Mouthfeel is heavy but not sticky. Taste is raisin, coffee, dark malt, some chalk and wood. A little too heavy for a porter but very good. I like the fact that it has a ton of flavor but not too much alcohol. I’d buy it again sometime.

Can, thanks to nimbleprop. Dark brown color akin to used motor oil, topped with a thick brown head. Spotty bits of lacing throughout. Nose is heavy roast, dark chocolate, faint espresso, and very light hops. Transitions perfectly to the taste. Heavy roast and cocoa dominate, but still very drinkable. With the exception of being a tad light in the carbonation, it has all of what I like in a robust porter. Good stuff!

Pours a beautiful dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is all roasted malt. Flavor is roasted malts and more roasted malts, almost smoky character. Very interesting, what I would have expected a traditional English porter to be. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz can from Crossroads Spirits. Pours black in color with a very small dark mocha colored head of foam. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, some dark fruit notes, and a hint of vanilla. Taste of roasted coffee grounds, bitter dark chocolate, burnt toast, caramel, and an aftertaste of vanilla and wood.

Can into pint. Pours dark black, fairly thick and lingering coffee milk shake head. Lot of malt, dry chocolate in the nose. In the mouth nice balance of roasted malts with a bit of coffee, some bitterness, and finishing with a sweeter note. Long finish that bounces back and forth between sweet and roast, before settling in on a coffee note. Very drinkable and very enjoyable.
