COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Penn Quarter Porter is our first in a line of draft-only limited-release beer, and itís a robust porter! In the way that The Public is on the line between a pale ale and an IPA, this is on the line between a porter and a stout - with chocolate notes and a dry, roasted finish.

Did not get a great deal other than chocolate on the nose. Vanilla and chocolate on the palate, a bitterness in the middle but right on the end a green cooking apple sourness that just took it away from me.

Opaque black, dirty sandy head. Light gravely smoke and ting of hop. Rounded hop tang throughout, although a bit thin a mouthfeel. Smoky dry tobacco and dusty choc. Picks of chewy pine burried in neat malt. Dry, bittered nicely finish. No bad.

Bottle, Black Friday Tasting

From a can poured a brown color with a small amount of head. Nice toasted malty flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2013 Can into a tulip. Pours solid black with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and cocoa. Full, heavy mouthfeel with little carbonation. Tastes of chocolate and coffee, with very little to no bitterness. An excellent porter.

From a can. Pours deep black with short tan head, not much retention or lacing. Notes of roasted malt " like fresh bread" some coffee and cocoa... All of those elements in the flavor profile ... Practically a Stout... Tasty! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can at Marquis Theatre. This is a serious American porter. This is the closest thing Iíve found to my beloved Founders porter. The seaweedy quality is there with tree bark, whole bean coffee, chocolate, earth, slight piney nips, and a nuttiness. This is beautifully interesting. Itís very malty with an excellent bittersweet balance. I love this stuff.
