COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Penn Quarter Porter is our first in a line of draft-only limited-release beer, and its a robust porter! In the way that The Public is on the line between a pale ale and an IPA, this is on the line between a porter and a stout - with chocolate notes and a dry, roasted finish.

12 ounce can thanks to nimbleprop. Pours a darker, thick brown with a khaki colored head of foam with good retention. Aroma has sweet roast notes with a rich coffee and toffee nutty character. Taste is a rich, toasty sweetness. Dryer bitterness shows itself in the finish. Medium bodied and a thicker mouthfeel. Very enjoyable porter.

Can shared with iphonephan. Pours near black with a ring beige head. Aroma of big roast upfront, with dark chocolate, caramel and coffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter with slight smoky aspect coming out along with those from the aroma. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Can. Nice thick porter-like pour of muddy black. Slippery on the tongue, maybe without all the body Id expected but still robust. Dry baking chocolate, dark fruit and toffee abound. More assertive than the 5.5% might suggest, giving this a deeper character than youd expect. Quite yummy. Wish it was colder out. (#5278, 10/5/2013)

Can. Black pour with a tall brown head. Aroma is strong roasted malt, dark, bittersweet chocolate, coffee notes, hints of licorice and vanilla. Taste is vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted malt, creamed-and-sugared coffee and faint licorice. Body is medium-full with a strong, dense carbonation. Slight stickiness to this as well. Ends with more robust chocolate notes, roasted malt, vanilla, coffee and burnt caramel.

Thin tan head, short lived, decent lace, lasting, the lace that is. Damn dark for a porter. Mild nose of roast, faint chocolate and wort. Body is med/full with a crisp carbonation, almost tangy. Lotsa light flavors, roast, coffee, black patent and cola.Little lacto to boot.Thin all around.Little licorice too.Dry, roasty finish. Uneventful but appreciated. Props to jra 1983 for the chance.

Can - thanks ygtbsm94! Pours deep mahogany tending to black, large brown creamy head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, anise, tobacco, earthy. Flavor is the same, light sweet and light bitter, drying out on the finish per description. Some cocoa notes, but really a coffee and cigarettes kind of beer. Full creamy body. Pretty solid porter.
