COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Penn Quarter Porter is our first in a line of draft-only limited-release beer, and it’s a robust porter! In the way that The Public is on the line between a pale ale and an IPA, this is on the line between a porter and a stout - with chocolate notes and a dry, roasted finish.

Can - thanks ygtbsm94! Pours deep mahogany tending to black, large brown creamy head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, anise, tobacco, earthy. Flavor is the same, light sweet and light bitter, drying out on the finish per description. Some cocoa notes, but really a coffee and cigarettes kind of beer. Full creamy body. Pretty solid porter.

12 oz. can from Total Wine, Virginia Beach, VA. Very dark brown pour with a creamy tan head. Heavy smoke and coffee are on the nose. Expected coffee, chocolate, and smoke are detected in the flavor. Finishes with a touch of floral hops. Tons of flavor and very impressive for a 5.5% ABV beer. One of the best porters I have tried. Great beer!

This is a porter... Duh. Not my favorite beer. But this one is pretty good. I like it.

Can, courtesy of Travlr, who brought it to NZ with him for a tasting session with Jimthechap and I, thanks a million! This is laptop black with a thin russet head, and a very stimulating aroma fo chocolates, roast malts, berries and allspice. The flavours follow the same ingredients, with the addition of hazelnuts, ashes and butter. Very buttery feel, more than many milk stouts. Tremendous porter. I love it and I will forever keep an eye on for its presence anywhere.

My grateful thanks to Travlr for dragging this across the earth for me and Cantabrian. It appears inky-black in colour with a robust mocha head. What is that smell? It seems like perfumey jasmine with char, cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, redwood chips, currants, dates, muscatel sultanas... Wow. The flavours are just what it says on the label: robust with an immediate foamy mouthfeel which subsides and becomes bitter, crispish and has lengthy fruitiness. Wow. Landmark beer.

12 oz can in a trade, thanks Devin. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and a nice roasty malt. Flavors are chocolate, coffee, light smoke, and a great roasty malt. Great beer. Really loving all the dc brau beers I’ve had so far.

Very dark and very thick pour. Big froathy head that is golden brown. Aroma of chocolate and coffee and the taste follows through with the same. Robust is a good description.

12 oz can. This was gift while on the bay. The porter poured a deep black with a large tan frothy head. The head dissipated to a small collar with modest lacing. Coffee and chocolate attack your sense of smell. The taste of roasted malt and coffee dominate your taste buds. An excellent porter a full array of favors of a porter. The medium body beer had average carbonation. The finish was of a sweet burnt malt.

Can shared by jayhawk73. Thanks Jeff. The beer appears dark coffee brown with a quarter inch of oily tan head. The aroma brings dark roast, malt, coffee, chocolate. Smells nice. Great flavor. What a solid beer. Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
