COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Penn Quarter Porter is our first in a line of draft-only limited-release beer, and itís a robust porter! In the way that The Public is on the line between a pale ale and an IPA, this is on the line between a porter and a stout - with chocolate notes and a dry, roasted finish.

From a can. Pours deep black with short tan head, not much retention or lacing. Notes of roasted malt " like fresh bread" some coffee and cocoa... All of those elements in the flavor profile ... Practically a Stout... Tasty! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Pours a dark black color with a nice tan head. Smokey malt aroma with a light sense of cocoa. Smooth taste with some roasted malt and come licorice. Decent porter.

Can at Marquis Theatre. This is a serious American porter. This is the closest thing Iíve found to my beloved Founders porter. The seaweedy quality is there with tree bark, whole bean coffee, chocolate, earth, slight piney nips, and a nuttiness. This is beautifully interesting. Itís very malty with an excellent bittersweet balance. I love this stuff.

On tap at brewery. Taster served in plastic cup. Dark brown with tan head. Hard to get a sense of lacing or retention. Aroma is of roasted malts, dark chocolate, and coffee. Flavors are similar with light up-front sweetness and a bitter coffee finish from the hops. A little thin.

12 ounce can thanks to nimbleprop. Pours a darker, thick brown with a khaki colored head of foam with good retention. Aroma has sweet roast notes with a rich coffee and toffee nutty character. Taste is a rich, toasty sweetness. Dryer bitterness shows itself in the finish. Medium bodied and a thicker mouthfeel. Very enjoyable porter.

Can shared with iphonephan. Pours near black with a ring beige head. Aroma of big roast upfront, with dark chocolate, caramel and coffee. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter with slight smoky aspect coming out along with those from the aroma. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Can. Nice thick porter-like pour of muddy black. Slippery on the tongue, maybe without all the body Iíd expected but still robust. Dry baking chocolate, dark fruit and toffee abound. More assertive than the 5.5% might suggest, giving this a deeper character than youíd expect. Quite yummy. Wish it was colder out. (#5278, 10/5/2013)
