3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can, thanks to nimbleprop. Dark brown color akin to used motor oil, topped with a thick brown head. Spotty bits of lacing throughout. Nose is heavy roast, dark chocolate, faint espresso, and very light hops. Transitions perfectly to the taste. Heavy roast and cocoa dominate, but still very drinkable. With the exception of being a tad light in the carbonation, it has all of what I like in a robust porter. Good stuff!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a beautiful dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is all roasted malt. Flavor is roasted malts and more roasted malts, almost smoky character. Very interesting, what I would have expected a traditional English porter to be.

12oz can from Crossroads Spirits. Pours black in color with a very small dark mocha colored head of foam. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, some dark fruit notes, and a hint of vanilla. Taste of roasted coffee grounds, bitter dark chocolate, burnt toast, caramel, and an aftertaste of vanilla and wood.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Can into pint. Pours dark black, fairly thick and lingering coffee milk shake head. Lot of malt, dry chocolate in the nose. In the mouth nice balance of roasted malts with a bit of coffee, some bitterness, and finishing with a sweeter note. Long finish that bounces back and forth between sweet and roast, before settling in on a coffee note. Very drinkable and very enjoyable.

35,5cl can shared by Cunningham - thanks! Pours very dark, almost black, with a minimal beige head. Aroma of roasted malt with lots of coffee, some dark chocolate and hints of wooden smoke. Medium sweet with some lightly sour hints and a fairly mild bitterness. A bit thin, but decent stuff. (2014-02-14 - at Cunningham’s place before RBNG-14)

Shared 355ml bottle. Tan-coloured head to a jet black body. Laces well. Sweet and mid-dry malty nose in a dark chocolate direction. Taste is mocha, almond, and roasted dark chocolate. Fine bodied. Smooth on the swallow. Nice, rather sweet though (at Cunninghams, Halden 14.02.2014).

Can, shared by Cunningham. Very dark brown in color, topped by a dense finger thick light tan head. The aroma has lots of licorice and molasses, as well as roasted malts and some coffee. Quite sweet on the palate, with molasses and some licorice. A nice bitterness too, lasting for a long time. Full body and soft carbonation. Lasting finish. A really pleasant one, could easily drink more of this. 140214

Really enjoying the DC Brau brews I recently got from a trade - thanks, Andy. Pours a dark, translucent brown, with a medium light brown head. Enticing aroma of cherries and roasted barley. Tastes great, plenty of interesting flavor while still smooth and relatively light for the style.
