COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Penn Quarter Porter is our first in a line of draft-only limited-release beer, and it’s a robust porter! In the way that The Public is on the line between a pale ale and an IPA, this is on the line between a porter and a stout - with chocolate notes and a dry, roasted finish.

12 oz can in a trade, thanks Devin. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and a nice roasty malt. Flavors are chocolate, coffee, light smoke, and a great roasty malt. Great beer. Really loving all the dc brau beers I’ve had so far.

Love this caramel rich porter. Lovely black pour with light head. Aroma of rich brown sugar, mild hops and rich caramel malts with hints of coffee. Comes through with the same over the palate and just a hint of spice. High effervescence and heavy body make for a pleasing, lingering brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3-4 oz pour on nitro at DC Brau. Dark brownish black with nice frothy light tan head. Aromas of roast, vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Tastes of dark chocolate, coffee, roast. Medium body with a dry finish. Creamy mouthfeel, medium-low carbonation. Pretty tasty.

Bottle during RBWG. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Thin mouth with nice roast, cocoa, ash, light dry finish, very good.

Sturdy porter and a snappy hat. Aroma is slightly underwhelming but the taste delivers with in your face roasted malt followed by faint notes of coffee and chocolate with a light body. Doesn’t have that cloying sweetness that some porters have; however, it’s not overly dry either. Very nice.

Pours very dark brown, almost black. Aromas of dark roasted malt and some chocolate. Flavor follows through to the taste. Finishes mostly dry, with slight residual sweetness. In balance and tasty.

$1.95 can from Wine Warehouse, CHO. Pours dark brown, nearly black, with a tiny quickly disappearing brown head. Smells of chocolate milk and coffee. Taste: First sip: interesting and different! Chocolate, nuts, roasted chestnuts. Bitter coffee finish. Extra point in taste for being different, but not a favorite.

Deep cola-colored beer with a medium foamy dark beige head. Bitter roasted nose of unsweetened cocoa, dark coffee, and a bit of smokiness. Flavor is rich, but milder than the aroma would indicate. It’s definitely more on the bitter side with burnt chocolate and coffee that’s evaporated in the pot most prominent. It could use a bit of sweetness to counter balance it, but overall a pretty good beer.
