COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Penn Quarter Porter is our first in a line of draft-only limited-release beer, and it’s a robust porter! In the way that The Public is on the line between a pale ale and an IPA, this is on the line between a porter and a stout - with chocolate notes and a dry, roasted finish.

Thanks to tastybeer for sharing this one evening. It might have been a bit past its prime but showed some promise. I would love to try a fresh bottle to see if it is better (as I suspect).

Aroma / Appearance - The fluid black base offers promise of a rich experience. A chocolately mocha head releases coffee, chocolate, and sweet hints. The evidence of problems comes in the form of a slightly bitter tang.

Flavor / Palate - Tartness permeates through the coffee. If it were intentional I’d say it works well but knowing it should not be there detracts from a balanced profile. Take that away and this would be a nice run of the mill local.

Can from Whole Foods. Pours hazy dark brownish black with tan head. Nose is dark malt, cacao, vanilla, hops. Tastes roasty dark malty, with notes of cacao, dark choc syrup, hops, and vanilla. Complex palate and finish. Well made.

Pours opaque cola-brown with a 2-finger dark tan head. Aroma of nutty malt with a touch of coffee. Medium body with a mild oily thickness and a lightly dry finish. Roasty malt flavor, with some coffee and a touch of citrus at the back.

12oz can, purchased from Perfect Pour. Canned 3/11/14. Pours a black, or very dark brown color. Foaming, bigger airy-brown head. Awesome loose splotches of lace. Awesome heavy roast, dark chocolate, and big coffee flavors to this. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, moderate carbonation. Light chewiness to the texture. Good long roasty coffee aroma in the finish. Some good earthy hop to it. Moderate bitter, moderate sweet taste. Solid, flavorful porter. Definitely stands out. Texture is a little soft, though, with stronger carbonation. Good one to enjoy with my sandwich, overall.

Can:   Big chocolate roasty nose, somewhat sweet, also like a dark chocolate that is more bitter sweet.   A little dry and chalky.   Fairly robust.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Roasty finish, sweet, some dark chocolate notes.   Simple yet solid Porter!   Low hop bitterness.   Thanks Brad!

Can. Pours black with a thin mocha ring. The aroma is sweet malt, light bourbon, oak, and vanilla. The taste adds smoke, charred malt on the finish, marshmallow in the middle, and light chocolate up front. I'm pleasantly surprised by how good this is. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz can at Marti and Ilde’s wedding in Maryland. Nice and dark with a good sense of bitterness. There’s a bit of cream thrown in to the mix. Very enjoyable and a great wedding too.

Black pour with a nice creamy layer of beige head and light sticky lacing .... aroma of mostly dark chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla and caramel malts ..... taste is of heavy dark chocolate, bitter roasted malts, light vanilla and caramel malts ..... has a nice stout mouthfeel and the chocolatey flavors are rich and silky/oily ..... definitely a lovely and very sessionable porter for the ABV, but drinks likes a medium to full bodied stout ..... finish is dusty and chocolatey ... loved it

Can poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting creamy brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, bakers cocoa, dark roast coffee and vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, dark chocolate and light coffee with a smooth lingering dark chocolate finish.
