The aroma was roaster malts, chocolate and cocoa powder, earthy with some black coffee. The flavor is deep roasted malt, creamy chocolate, black coffee with some earthy hops and moderate bitterness to the finish. Nice easy drinking porter.

From a can, thanks GT. Pours black with a rich, tight mocha head. Nose is fresh coffee, earthy, light hops. Flavor is bright and light, a pleasant roasted coffee, light roasted malts, and bright, tempered hops. Light in the mouth with medium carbonation. Seems very fresh and well put together. Neatly dances between two seemingly different styles.

Bottle with Ray and Ryan. Pours black with thin mocha head. Notes of roasted malt, coffee, and dark fruit. I think this may have been infected because it was a bit tart. It wasn’t bad but I don’t see this noted in other reviews. I have a couple more bottles I’ll have to re-rate later.

22 ounce bottle. Dark brown, black color topped by a rocky tan head. Yeasty roasted malt aroma with light banana notes. Flavor is more banana; roasted malt with notes of smoke up front. Medium bodied with coffee-like maltiness and dry resiny hops. Finish is more chocolate and smoked malt. Brief dry finish. Not very complex, but somewhat unique.

12oz can in a chalice. Pours very dark brown with a big, lacy, tan head. Aroma of a lot of roasted malts, a little chocolate and coffee, a little dough and some floral hops. Flavor the same with a nice amount of maltiness for a beer that’s only 5.5 percent. Average texture. A good porter.
