COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Citizen can best be summed up as "a trip around the world in a can". We start off with our classic recipe that contains American and British hops, and pair them with a distinctive Belgian yeast for a taste that brings together a little bit of everywhere. The Citizen’s nose is of delicate yet floral hops, becoming more fragrant as it warms. This, along side a sweet malt finish, strikes a wonderfully drinkable balance that will bring you all the way back to our nation’s capital. Become a Citizen of the world, one sip at a time!

Can into snifter glass. Golden color with reddish hue and white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast [bannana/citrus fruit, spices (clove, some pepper)]. Taste is the aroma, bready with some earthy hops to balance the sweetness. Medium body, creamy and smooth. Interesting brew, not my fav from DC Brau but not bad.

12 oz. can courtesy of Queenholly. Thanks much for the D.C. brew. A nice hazy gold with a thin ring of head in a Trappist glass. Aroma is fruity with yeast and some spicy notes. The flavor is pretty nice. The flavor has small amounts of yeast. Light Belgian spice with light citrus hop bitterness. Lighter in body and easy enough to drink.

Can. Somewhat pale amber with a huge white head that eventually fades to naught. Belgian yeast, overly sweet malt, bready, melon, banana. Mild carbonation, sweet body, becomes dry, leaves a yeast and fruit taste on the palate with a bit of chalk.

Thanks to mar for giving me this can. This is my first beer from Washington, D.C. Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a large white head. Aroma has a lot of Belgian character, with some yeast, pepper and orange citrus. The flavor is quite different. I get a lot of bread and biscuit malt, with some grass and earth thrown in. There is a little yeast character, as well as some pepper and a bit of coriander. There is not much citrus in the flavor, which is disappointing. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Can thanks to Michelle. Orange pour. Hazy. Yeasty flavor offset by orange peel and tangerine.

Pours golden with little to no aroma. Very sweet and refreshing but not hoppy enough to call it a Belgian IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Was not a big fan of this one. Supposedly a belgian pale, but it was very sweet, with a flat palate, no hop character (surprising given the great hoppiness that DC Brau can do) and a sticky finish. No real fruitiness or complexity, just sugar. Bleh

Aroma: floral hops, nectarines, slight whiskey. Appearance: orange with white head. Taste: light bitterness, refreshing carbonation, slight farmhouse funk. Palate: smooth and fluffy, with a clean finish.

Very turbid gold color out of the can, but I may not have let it rest enough to settle out from being shipped here from VA. Sticky white head. Yeasty bread dough and sour citrus rinds in the nose. Fruity beer with orange peel, grapefruit, green apples and something almost kiwi. A bitter citrus peel finish. Okay beer.
