COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Citizen can best be summed up as "a trip around the world in a can". We start off with our classic recipe that contains American and British hops, and pair them with a distinctive Belgian yeast for a taste that brings together a little bit of everywhere. The Citizen’s nose is of delicate yet floral hops, becoming more fragrant as it warms. This, along side a sweet malt finish, strikes a wonderfully drinkable balance that will bring you all the way back to our nation’s capital. Become a Citizen of the world, one sip at a time!

Can. Pours a cloudy golden color with a decent white head. Thick, malty aroma with a hint of banana. Nice, smooth taste with that Belgo taste. Really nice finish and a great balance. Impressive.

In cans and on draught several times - good Belgian style beer for all the time drinking.

Can. Pours a hazy golden orange color. Medium head. Nice aroma of fruits and cinnimon, belgium yeast, orange. Medium sweetness. Light bitter. Average carbonation. Pretty tasty.

My least favorite of the DC brau offerings. Overly sweet, too much candy sugar in the flavor. Has some floral qualities to it and the belgian banana yeast is there.

Not much aroma, and lacking in hops for a pale ale. Initial taste reminded me of portabella mushrooms. Not great aftertaste.

can. hazy golden with one finger head. sweet with some citrus and just a hint of hops. seems promising, but doesn’t deliver. wish it had a lot more hops.

Can from trade. Pours golden yellow, white head. Aroma of spicey yeast, no real hop aroma. Taste is fruity, very much so. Again, no hop bitterness, even for a bpa. Not a fan.

Can to snifter. Nose is moderately grassy with some medicinal character to it, like band aids. Taste is initially bitter then fades to show off a sweet bready malt flavor. Some grassy and earthy hop tones come through mid palate. Finishes semisweet with some candy notes to it. Tolerable but not my preferred style by any means.

Poured from a can. Hazy orange with small white head. Lots of sediment floating around. Fruit and spice aroma. Taste of rotten fruit with spices. Very bad aftertaste. Drain pour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. can from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA. Yellowish-orange pour with a frothy white head. Aroma of lemon zest, Belgian candi sugar, and light mango. The aroma has real promise so the taste is a bit of a letdown. While there is nothing off-putting, the taste is weak with only mild flavors that are featured in the aroma. The lingering bitterness from the yeast is a bit surprising since there is little more than a hint of it in the flavor. Not a bad beer but not one I would recommend from what has otherwise been great from DC Brau.

Pours cloudy golden orange color with creamy white head. Slight aroma of citrus and grain. Citrus flavor with grain, and floral hops. Oily texture. Overall, a nice beer.
