COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Citizen can best be summed up as "a trip around the world in a can". We start off with our classic recipe that contains American and British hops, and pair them with a distinctive Belgian yeast for a taste that brings together a little bit of everywhere. The Citizen’s nose is of delicate yet floral hops, becoming more fragrant as it warms. This, along side a sweet malt finish, strikes a wonderfully drinkable balance that will bring you all the way back to our nation’s capital. Become a Citizen of the world, one sip at a time!

Pour out of 12 oz can, hazy orange pour with lots of carbonation streaming up, fluffy thick white head. Aroma has notes of sweet biscuit, bready notes, hints of yeast, slight sour grain, touch of lemon, orange, bitter grassy earth in there as well, floral notes come through. Taste is sweet orange, pear, biscuity notes, some honey and slight grass, touch of floral and earth, more sweet fruits come through, fine carbonation but fairly medium bodied. Pretty decent.

Can to snifter. Nose is moderately grassy with some medicinal character to it, like band aids. Taste is initially bitter then fades to show off a sweet bready malt flavor. Some grassy and earthy hop tones come through mid palate. Finishes semisweet with some candy notes to it. Tolerable but not my preferred style by any means.

Poured from a can. Hazy orange with small white head. Lots of sediment floating around. Fruit and spice aroma. Taste of rotten fruit with spices. Very bad aftertaste. Drain pour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. can from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA. Yellowish-orange pour with a frothy white head. Aroma of lemon zest, Belgian candi sugar, and light mango. The aroma has real promise so the taste is a bit of a letdown. While there is nothing off-putting, the taste is weak with only mild flavors that are featured in the aroma. The lingering bitterness from the yeast is a bit surprising since there is little more than a hint of it in the flavor. Not a bad beer but not one I would recommend from what has otherwise been great from DC Brau.

12oz can courtesy of Greg G. Golden amber hue, murky clarity (cannot see through glass) with mostly diminishing white head. No lacing. Sweet aroma, grain, citrus (orange), floral aromas. Sweet taste (citrus) & grain up front with more grain on the finish. Light body, oily texture. I may have missed some things on this beer, but I enjoyed it. Had "The Public" after this, rating on this one to come.

Can into a tulip. Pours a deep golden/light amber color with a thick, long-lasting white head. Smells of fruits and sweet malts. Very little complexity to the flavor, just sweet malt and a hint of fruit, with a dry finish. Not a bad beer, but not great.

Light, malty bread-like flavor with a punch of yeast and earthiness, grass, and hops. Smooth, trailing finish.

Can from Whole Foods. Pours turbid orangy with off-white head. Nose is noble hops, yeasty, hoppy and citric. Tastes bready malty, with a big melon and orange marmaladey fruitiness, resiny hops, and a smooth, complex finish. This one is solid.

Aroma - is a sweet malt with a little alcohol and somewhat floral Appearance - is a hazy golden color with an initial white head that fades into nothing. Taste - the taste is somewhat unpleasant, sort of malty sweet and too floral Palate - the feel is effervescent and sharp. Not a beer I’ll fondly remember.
