3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
0.355l can, courtesy of Melby shared with The Tasting Crew. Thanks Kenni! This one pours a cloudy, quite good looking one actually, body. It’s really deep peach orange and in top a small sidesticking and light lacing off-white head. It has a piney nose. Well hopped one, almost so that it smells a little double ipaish. A strong malty red sweetness, lots of fruits. Pineapples cones also. Like it. It doesn’t taste bad either. Quite on the bitter side. Mild oily in the mouth and it’s soft to average on the carbonation. Really sharp and grassy bitter actually. Can taste that it’s not a super fresh one, but lots of flavors. 30.09.2015

Clear, copper pour with an off-white head. The aroma has pine with malty undertones. It has a medium body with slightly oily texture and lively carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with a dry finish.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft at Reagan airport in DC, local brewery offering. Overall average and one dimensional IPA. Resin hops on the nose with not much else. Strong bitter bite throughout the taste. Really not much flavor and only picking up bitterness and pine. This beer has an odd flavor profile, won't try again.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Churchkey, DC. A dark copper/gold body topped by a thin white head. The nose is like an astringent East Coast IPA with a dank pineyness thrown in for good measure. Up front there are some nice IPA elements here - tangerine, grapefruit rind, molasses and roasted malt. I like rindy IPAs but there is something a little unpleasant going on here. I won’t be back for another

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can at some shitty corporate Italian place in Crystal City, VA (or MD? Fuck, I don’t know.)
Wasn’t particularly in the mood for an IPA but I wanted to recover the DC tick that was stolen from me when Capitol City moved its operations out of DC proper. Aggressively c-hopped IPA with plenty of caramel malt. Yeah, think 2005. Is this what passes for good beer on the East Coast?

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Golden-orange, thin eggshell head, film that stays. Aroma is strong lemony evergreen (refreshing), toasted malt, touch of light caramel and grapefruit, hint of tropical fruit (passion fruit). Body is medium-light, oily, with some gritty texture, moderate coarseness and soft in carbonation. Flavor is bitter pine, nutty pine nuts, slightly astringent, citrus rind. Quite astringent after a while. Overall: too harsh/bitter, otherwise a good pine-oriented IPA.
