3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from 12 oz. can at Lost Dog Cafe in McLean, VA.
Hazy, rusty amber with huge light khaki head and excellent lacing
Aroma of caramel, pine and citrus.
Taste of pine resin, caramel and citrus in an almost perfect balance. Moderately bitter with a hint of sweetness in the finish.
Medium/full body and medium/high carbonation with a very satisfying mouthfeel.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught: Pours to a light amber colored body, medium white head. Aroma is strong hops: grapefruit, wet grass, and a touch of light malt. Flavor is chewy hops upfront (grapefruit, pine), with a strong bitterness that lasts through the finish, which is also grapefruit hops. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. My first beer from this brewery since leaving DC years ago, and this is fantastic.

From the can, pours dark orange with a great hop aroma. Taste is very earthy and dry with a sweet hop finish. Love DC Brau!

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Overall, a decent APA with some nice flavor and nose, not horribly hoppy that it will burn you out fully. Drinkable

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can:   Dirty caramel, thick, moderate sandy head, spotty lacing.   Piney nose, a little pith.   Similar on the tongue, not too biting.   A tiny bit floral.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes like a weak IPA, or perhaps like an east coast Pale Ale.   Has a nice flavor profile, but isnít robust or bright enough for my tastes.

Can from a friend. Nice amber pour with a cream head. Nose I lightly grapefruit, melon, tropical, and clightly floral. Very smooth on the palate, florals and tropical fruits, backed with a light sweetness and a very nice finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growler from the brewery drank within 6 hours of pouring. Hazy copper amber with fleeting head and some lace. Itís a very bitter, strong fresh hop monster in both aroma and flavor. Funky, tropical, and pine hope aromas are not so forward that they donít let through a moderately sweet wort. The flavor is fresh grapefruit hops, a good amount of spice and hop oils, plenty of pine and a little sweetness. Not really balanced but thatís just fine. The texture is resiny but fresh and lively. Love it that a thereís another brewery on the east coast that knows how to make this kind of hop centric beer.

One of the best East Coast IPAs I?ve had. In addition to the perfectly hopped flavor, it has a freshing, hoppy scent with a hint of Christmas tree. So beautiful in a glass, you can?t resist drinking it!
