3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz can into a pint glass.
A: Pours a hazy copper color. The head is pretty tall, thanks to an aggressive pour - about two fingers high and off-white in shading. It fades at a moderate rate, and leaves behind small rings of lacing on the glass.
S: The aroma is absurdly biscuity. I also pick up some floral, piny hops behind it, but wow, this has one of the strongest bread-like components Iíve ever encountered in an IPA. No citrusy notes here, sadly; considering Columbus hops donít give off much of a citrus aroma, thatís not really surprising.
T: Biscuit notes trail down into the flavor profile, and cluster near the opening. Hops last throughout the flavor profile, and are very floral in nature, perhaps even nectar-esque. Finishing bitterness is mild, balanced well by the malt backbone. I have to say, it grows on me the more I drink it.
M: The body is just a shade under medium. A clean, dry finish helps to scrub off any excess resin, but it will still linger slightly as more is consumed. Carbonation is about right, maybe 5% too low.
O: Very well made, but not my style of IPA. I prefer the lighter-colored, citrusy versions over the coppery, crystal-malt-and-pine ones. Itís still a good IPA, especially if youíre into the latter.

Not a lot of hops in the aroma. This is strange. Iím getting a lot of pepper mixed with a hint of butter. A very dry finish where the hops shine through. Good but not amazing.

Draft. Aroma is citrusy with lemon, grapefruit and pine. Taste is burnt, almost ashy caramel, pine, grapefruit and citrus with some sweetness and light alcohol coming through. Medium mouthfeel, medium carbonation and gentle hoppy aftertaste.

0.355l can, courtesy of Melby shared with The Tasting Crew. Thanks Kenni! This one pours a cloudy, quite good looking one actually, body. Itís really deep peach orange and in top a small sidesticking and light lacing off-white head. It has a piney nose. Well hopped one, almost so that it smells a little double ipaish. A strong malty red sweetness, lots of fruits. Pineapples cones also. Like it. It doesnít taste bad either. Quite on the bitter side. Mild oily in the mouth and itís soft to average on the carbonation. Really sharp and grassy bitter actually. Can taste that itís not a super fresh one, but lots of flavors. 30.09.2015

Clear, copper pour with an off-white head. The aroma has pine with malty undertones. It has a medium body with slightly oily texture and lively carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with a dry finish.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft at Reagan airport in DC, local brewery offering. Overall average and one dimensional IPA. Resin hops on the nose with not much else. Strong bitter bite throughout the taste. Really not much flavor and only picking up bitterness and pine. This beer has an odd flavor profile, won't try again.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the Churchkey, DC. A dark copper/gold body topped by a thin white head. The nose is like an astringent East Coast IPA with a dank pineyness thrown in for good measure. Up front there are some nice IPA elements here - tangerine, grapefruit rind, molasses and roasted malt. I like rindy IPAs but there is something a little unpleasant going on here. I wonít be back for another
