COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Corruption is our take on an India Pale Ale (IPA). We will corrupt your palate with dangerously drinkable malts as well as assertive piney and citrusey hop aromatics, letting some alcohol and sugars sneak through. The crimson copper color coupled with with a nose, filled with plenty of citrus fruits canít help but bring you down to our level. This is one shady deal that you wonít be able to pass up!

Draft on May 27th, 2011 at the Big Hunt. My first DC rating(Iíve never rated Cap City or District Chophouse Brews), and itís an actual distribution DC beer! Pours a nice copper haze. Aroma a little citrusy, some hop. Hop was more aggressive than I expected, but thatís a good thing. Very nice balance, long lingering aftertaste. My favorite local IPA at this point of DC/MD/VA brews.

Growler from the brewery. Cloudy orange pour. Thin, light-tan head. Massive piney hop aroma on first smell - I knew that this was going to be a good one. Body is smooth and lightly carbonated, with a nice citrus hop flavor coming through. Good deal of bitterness, but itís not overshadowing. Finishes cleanly, somewhat dry, with a hint of grapefruit. Iíll have to try this side-by-side against Lost Rhinoís IPA to figure out which is my favorite local IPA.

Growler straight from the brewery. A clear copper pour with a thick and fluffy antique white head that leaves rings of lacing behind. A nicely balanced aroma that features plenty of grapefruitiness, citrus zest, pine trees, caramel, and some spiciness. Medium to full-bodied for the style. A touch of caramel and some biscuity spiciness upfront taste-wise. Lots and lots of FRESH hoppiness at the tail end. Grapefruits and citrus rinds galore! A hint of pepper in the drying finish. Resiny and fairly harsh, yet still very drinkable!

Had on draft as well, but these notes are from a growler. Copper colored and nearly clear. Not much head, but I was trying to avoid it. Smell is like christmas, with some pleasant breadiness and grapefruit. Taste is bitter, grapefruity, and some malty caramel. Feels like a solid IPA on the palate. Pretty dang good.

thanks travlr. canned. pours hazy golden orange, with a longlasting pillowy head. Aroma: very piney, golden syrup, citrussy, mango, peach, orange peel, fresh hops, caramel malty, some passion fruits, guava, tropical fruits niceness. Taste: sweet caramel malts, quite present malty sweetness, quite balanced though, peach, medium bitterness, dryness, some grassy notes, orange peel, pine, grape fruit/peel. ends very dry with a present but not aggressive bitterness.

Opaque amber pour with a vivacious white head. Lots of citrus and piney resin in the nose lead to juicy stone fruit and orange peel in the flavor. Presumably low mash temps lead to a light body that is extremely poundable. Great attenuation with a crisp piney finish. Really nice.

On draught at Washington Hilton. Pours a dense amber color with a long lasting white lace and head. Big hoppy aroma. Medium body. Mild maltiness with dominating hop flavor balance and moderate but solid bitterness. Cleaner than most New England IPAs and less citrusy than most West Coast IPAs. Not bad.

Pours deep dark gold into a shaker. Off-white head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Pine and grapefruit aromas. Well balanced with sweet caramel upfront turning to pine and citrus in the lasting bitter finish.

Solid IPA. Not much else to say about it. Made in DC, so thatís pretty cool. As far as I can tell, itís one of 3 breweries in DC, so itís nice to see they can make a decent beer to style. Definitely the AMERICAN style of IPA.
