The Public is a delicious easy drinking pale ale made from a simple recipe of quality grain and top notch American hops. Draft at Moriartys. Cloudy medium copper pour with slim fizzy/foamy white head. Lots of acetic notes off the top. Mild toasted grain flavors. Nail polish remover. Band-Aid. Plastic pumpernickel. Notes are so horrible I must have a bad batch.

Can from nimbleprop as a part of Summer Secret Santa 2014, thanks man! About 4 months old I think. Bronze pour with a eggshell head. Nose has loads of hops, grapes, cereal and peaches. Taste is fairly bitter upfront with loads of grapefruit and peaches.

Poured from can. Pours a coppery color with 1 finger off-white head. Aroma is pine/resin with some malty sweetness. Taste follows suit, with initial bitterness which fades out. I get a little metallic note near finish.

Nice piney hop aroma, pours a medium amber with a slight haze, and a very thin white head. Caramel malt flavors start out, with medium body, and a sharp hop bite to finish. Very easy drinking, and a very good APA.

A- cloudy, amber, copper hue. Bone white head/foam, disappears pretty quick, but leaves a nice lace. Smell- caramel, sugar, malt. The nose suggests a heavier taste is to follow, but that is not the case. Taste- bitter right out of the gate, moved to some sour notes in the middle, then finished with more of the bitterness on the back end. Had trouble defining the favors that stood out, other than an overwhelming malt backbone with some citrus lurking. Mouthfeel- medium, unassuming. Overall- good/very good. I’m a big fan of this beer. Might come as a little bit of a surprise, given the less than stellar review. It’s the kind of beer I could easily see someone else snubbing completely, but that’s the beauty of adhering to the bottom line: it’s a good beer if it tastes good to you. Drink it if you can, as it’s a local offering here in the DC/VA/MD metro area. Cheers!
