COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Public is a delicious easy drinking pale ale made from a simple recipe of quality grain and top notch American hops. Tawny hues of caramel and amber are a trademark of the Public ale as well as a delicious spruce crispness resulting from a beautiful abundance of hops! Truly an American style ale for the public.

Hazy orange-amber body, medium white head, spotty lacing. Perfumey citrus, pine and resin. Moderate bitterness, medium bodied, appropriately carbed, solid finish.

12 oz can into a pint glass. A: Pours a hazy copper color. Thereís a nice three finger pale yellow head here, however it doesnít retain itself that well. Lacing, on the other hand, is good. S: Pretty typical of the style: grapefruit, pine resin, and floral notes come from the hops, while there are touches of biscuity malt. Key word being ítouchesí - this isnít over-malted, thankfully. T: This one is pretty floral in terms of hoppiness. Only a touch of citrusy character comes through near the back end, along side a minor surge of caramel maltiness. Iíd reckon the general bitterness is moderate; thereís just enough malt here to balance out any annoying harshness without coming off excessively sugary. M: The feel has a decent crispness to it, but is perhaps a touch too astringent finishing. Still, I canít complain about its drinkability or carbonation levels. O: A well made, easy drinking pale, just one that isnít particularly remarkable or exciting. To be fair, though, floral, piny pale ales donít really excite me in the first place. Worth a try.

Can. Amber pour with a short, tan head. Aroma is flora hops, soft caramel and light citrus. Taste is citrus fruit, floral hops, toasted malt and caramel. Body is medium and slight chewy with a moderate, dense carbonation. Finishes with more floral hops, a touch of earthy hops, abundant citrus, chewy caramel and soft malt notes.

Appearance is golden color bit foggy, slight taste of grapefruit but definitely tasted the citrus. Not a bad pale ale just not something I will frequent often.

Pours a deep amber, tan head. Piney hop aroma, caramelized sugar. Very mellow, definitely doesnít jump out of the glass.Taste is big piney hops, fairly bitter but not overblown. Carries some carmel character but not overloaded with residual sugar. Medium bodied with a very dry finish. Seems like a crossover between a EPA and APA, getting up there at 6%abv. Solid showing for my first DC beer.

Can: Poured a bright orangey/amber color ale with a nice big foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and grapefruit notes with dry caramel notes. Taste is very refreshing with solid floral notes of citrus and grapefruit with limited bitterness and some dry caramel malt notes also perceptible. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Solid rendition of the style with great drinkability factor.

A really good pale ale. Cloudy orange color with an average head, the aroma is malty and slightly tart. Pineapple and butterscotch notes, too. The best thing about the flavor is the hops. Theyíre big. They cold have marketed this thing as an IPA and Iíve had called it a slightly mild but tasty IPA. I really enjoyed this.

12oz can. Looks golden. Aroma of nice floral and lightly citrusy hops and a little pale and caramel malts. Flavor the same, with a nice blend of hops and malts. Average texture. A pretty good pale ale.
