The Public is a delicious easy drinking pale ale made from a simple recipe of quality grain and top notch American hops. Tawny hues of caramel and amber are a trademark of the Public ale as well as a delicious spruce crispness resulting from a beautiful abundance of hops! Truly an American style ale for the public.

Can sample at Canvitational. Poured clear dark golden color with an average to large frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop and earthy aroma. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Solid brew.

Hopfiger, dunkel bitterer Beginn. Die Bitterkeit steigt, die blumigen Noten bleiben z.T. darunter verborgen. Dies bleibt für eine längere Zeit so, spät dann leicht hefig, die Bitterkeit sinkt zugunsten der Hopfigkeit. Nett! 8/10/11/10/10/10

Can courtesy of BeerandBlues2 (thanks Brad) poured a hazy orange amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, orange zest, light earthiness and light pine. Palate was light odied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, pine, light earthiness and a hint of orange zest with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

Sampled at 4th NoVA Summer Brewfest. Pours clear copper with a medium-large, creamy cream colored head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (biscuit, caramel, toast), heavy hops (earthy, herbal), and average esters (fruity). Flavor is malty with hop dominance and bitterness. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth with a dry finish.

Can @ Dan’s house. Strangely enough, I acquired two cans of this in one week: one from foppa78 and one from beerandblues2 via ratman. Thanks for the dc tick. Hazy orange appearance with a tan head. Mild floral, orange hoppy, pale malty aroma. Slightly tangy, floral, herbal hoppy, somewhat bitter, pale malty flavor.

GABF. Yellow pour. Nice crisp hop aroma, fresh cut Christmas trees and caramel. Flavor is bitter and juicy with a good malt bill.

Tap at Meridian Pint for the official release. Pours a hazed, deeper yellow to orange/gold topped by a fairly rocky, yellowish head. Not a hell of a lot of retention or lace. Aroma is caramel, lemon, orange candy, sweat. Taste is dry, bitter, very soapy, oatmeal malty. Really gets massively soapy and extremely bitter. Thick, hoppy, full-bodied. A little too intense for APA- would do better as IPA.

Sampled at the NoVa Summer Beer Fest in Leesburg, VA on 6/25/11. Sampled repeatedly in fact. Also, my 4000th rating! Pours a clear golden amber color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention, nice lacing. Aroma of earthy hops with a strong caramel backbone. The taste is earthy, citrus hops with a malty background. Medium bodied. Very nice beer.
