The Public is a delicious easy drinking pale ale made from a simple recipe of quality grain and top notch American hops. Tawny hues of caramel and amber are a trademark of the Public ale as well as a delicious spruce crispness resulting from a beautiful abundance of hops! Truly an American style ale for the public.

Thanks to Travlr for my 1st DC brew! Aroma of fresh citrus/pine with light caramel malts. Appearance is unfiltered caramel orange with sticky white head. Flavor featured fresh, juicy hops and some lingering bitterness in the finish, but not overly so. Palate was bubbly and soft. Well done.

Nice piney hop aroma, pours a medium amber with a slight haze, and a very thin white head. Caramel malt flavors start out, with medium body, and a sharp hop bite to finish. Very easy drinking, and a very good APA.

A- cloudy, amber, copper hue. Bone white head/foam, disappears pretty quick, but leaves a nice lace. Smell- caramel, sugar, malt. The nose suggests a heavier taste is to follow, but that is not the case. Taste- bitter right out of the gate, moved to some sour notes in the middle, then finished with more of the bitterness on the back end. Had trouble defining the favors that stood out, other than an overwhelming malt backbone with some citrus lurking. Mouthfeel- medium, unassuming. Overall- good/very good. Iím a big fan of this beer. Might come as a little bit of a surprise, given the less than stellar review. Itís the kind of beer I could easily see someone else snubbing completely, but thatís the beauty of adhering to the bottom line: itís a good beer if it tastes good to you. Drink it if you can, as itís a local offering here in the DC/VA/MD metro area. Cheers!

12 oz can at Marti and Ildeís wedding in Maryland. Lots of nice fresh ingredients make this one of the better APAís. Crisp and not too dry. Just the right amount of hops. Great wedding too.

Can into a glass. Pours a deep gold with a white head. Fruity, hoppy aroma. Light mouthfeel. Interesting, almost cheese-like maltiness. Not their best beer, but not terrible.

Decent beer. A little in the piney side but not bad. To me its more middle of the road then high

Draft. Light amber/copper color with a fluffy offwhite head. Resinous pine dominates the nose on this guy. Taste is pine forward with a solid caramel undertone that doesnt outshine the pine. Very quaffable.

Can from Whole Foods PM. Dark straw pour with off-white head. Nose is pale malt, piney hops, mild fruit. Tastes hoppy, juicy, with some fruity and floral finishing flavors.
