UPDATED: JUN 16, 2008 750ml bottle. Light and slightly cloudy golden color. Sweet banana aroma all the way. Sweet banana flavor as well. Really impressive beer for the style, earning points for not being syrup based. The alcohol lends an almost tripel-like quality to the beer, but the bananas and sultanas secure a nice smooth, sweet finish. Good stuff, worth a try if you are into fruit beers.

A beautiful aroma of banana and toffee lures you in and the taste is predominantly of bananas with a rich, tangy aftertaste. It does get a bit too much by the end of the bottle but nice in small doses!

How could anyone rate the aroma of theis beer below a 10. Unfiltered orange color. More banana aroma then taste, tart finish. Very enjoyable. Wouldnt be able to drink more then one in a night. would love to find this beer again.

Aroma is fruity, yeasty. Cloudy, yellow coloured with a lasting head. Taste is sweet, with a decent bitter finish. Yeast and banana appear in taste. Certainly not as bad as expected.

Nice flavour, and the aftertaste is very fruity. Some do not like it, but I think it is nice. A little yellow and dark in look.

On tap at Kent BF 2006. Copper colour with thick beige head. Ripe banana aroma. Lots of fruity esters. Good in mouth, fullish and then sweet dried fruit and banana finish. Alcohol is there, but doesn’t overpower the other flavours. It does certainly grow on you after my initial doubts.

An orange beer with a huge light orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of citrus and banana. The flavor is sweet spicy and with strong notes of banana. Reminds me of mashed bananas with cloves. The end has a slight touch of toffee and is quite dry. Weird.

On draft at the Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Hazy yellow coloured, small white head. Naturally, bananas are dominant in aroma. Besides bananas perhaps some other fruit in flavour, not overly sweet like some other examples of the style. Best banana-beer i’ve had so far (which, i must say, wasn’t a real challenge).

Draft, Arendsnest. Slightly hazy golden color, short white head. Aroma of banana, bit spicy. Bit bitter and fruity taste, dry. It is not as extremely sweet as most banana beers, so it is actually drinkable.

Bottled. A hazy yellow/blonde coloured beer with a little whitish head. The aroma and taste are more sultanas than banana but neither of them really show themselves that much. The taste isn’t particularly pleasant but it does get less inoffensive as the glass empties. Maybe a little spice and certainly some sweetness. Ok but not to be repeated.
