3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bierkoning (8107) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - SEP 18, 2009
Bottom fermented says the label, so must be a Dutch version of a kellerbier. Drunk @ the train from Amersfoort to Hengelo. Soft flowery aroma. Malty flowery hopbitter flavor with citrus and a touch of yeat. Lots of citrus in the aftertaste. Quite OK, lots of flavor from a bottom fermented brew.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 altonbrownd (3581) - Brussels, BELGIUM - SEP 14, 2009
Bottle from Bierkoning. Golden yellow, slightly hazy with medium head. Malty, toasty nose. Bit sweet, but quite watery. Very little taste to it actually. Was a dissapointment.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hugh (144) - Zillebeke, BELGIUM - JUL 23, 2009
I warmed to this simple beer as I got into it. Amber, balanced, unpretentious, awful label. Not sweet, which is a big surprise to a long term 3 Horne drinker. A work of genius in comparison to other beers in this sparsely filled class.
