3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle - - Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam
Deep reddy brown, tiny beige head. Poured clear, yeast stuck to bottom of bottle. I served this a little cold, alas. Despite the cold, I get a bit of smoke in the aroma. As it warms it heads towards a lovely sweet roasty coffee, and a hint of dark fruits. Lovely carbonation in the mouth, very soft. Body is quite refreshing, not watery as such, and certainly seemingly not carrying significant alcohol at all, nor cloyingly sweet. Beautiful rich roasty taste. There really is absolutely no alcohol in this at all. I strained, but still could not find it. Finish has quite a bitter bite, and the burntness stays too. Quite delicious - I would never turn down the offer of another one of these.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 8, 2009 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a reddish, dark brown with a medium tan head and an aroma of malts, caramel, oak and some campfire. The flavor is mildly sweet and malty, with some notes of toffee. The finish is not bitter at all, more like you drank a whiskey 1,5 hour before.
