A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s Pre GBBF Tasting
Dark brown with a tan head, very bock-like. An interesting bock with pronounced sweet toffee malt with a lick of sour-dough bread in the finish leaving a sugary and salty aftertaste. Interesting and enjoyable.

Bottle at Chris_o Pre GBBF Shindig 08. The beer that made me say something I thought that I would never say, "Craig, can you give me the Horn." Attractive deep brown colour with lasting beige head. Strong syrupy malt. OK, but not too sweet, even though I really expected it too be super sweet.

Hazy brown with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt and caramel notes. Sweet flavor with mild chocolate, caramel and breadish notes. Ends sweet.

bottle.
[thank you, skortila/caesar]
Pours deep dark red with a staying, creamy, off-white head. A good deal of small floaties. Aroma has dark rum, raisins, light chocolate and roasted malts. High carbonation, good mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, perhaps a bit underwhelming, some roasted malts, light chocolate finish, some slight hops. A good bock, but not exceptional.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of jbrus. Clear, dark brown with an orange glow and a nice, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dried fruit and rum. Rather full body with sweetish roasted malt, dried fruit, overripe fruit and raisins in rum. Basically no bitterness. Very delicious. 300707

Bottled. Dark brown colour, mediumsized brown bubbly head. Aroma is alcohol, caramel, fudge, raisins and some yeast. Flavour is raisins, yeast, an alcoholic sting and lots of fruits and some malts. Fills up the palate in a nice way also. Quite easy to drink and enjoyable.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2007 bottle from uto. Blackest brown with thin white head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt and yeast. Taste is similar with sweet coffee hints. Finish of sweet roasted malts. Not too complicated - just nice and unoffensive.

Bottle at home. Mocha head. Dark brown colour. Caramel, chocolate aroma. Sugary, carbonated taste. Smouth mouthfeel. Quite spicey. Not too prickly.

sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 24, 2006
(Bottled) Dark cola color with a small, tanned and slightly lacy head. Toffee-malty, sweetish aroma with some rye-pudding and spices. Sweetish and slightly sour, yeasty, roasted-malty, slightly burned and salty flavor with some ashiness and licorice. Medium-bodied, slightly thin palate with medium carbonation. Quite homebrew-like, but not bad. Something between a doppelbock, schwarzbier, and dubbel.
