oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Mar 4, 2009 Bottled (From Cracked Kettle). Hazy ambery brown colour, mediumsized creamy off-white head. Aroma is fruits, nuts, yeast, caramel and some mild alcohol. Flavour is bread, nuts, yeast, earth, some caramel, spices and also a touch of alcohol in the finish. SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy Feb 2, 2009 Bottle: Spewed from the bottle like a valcano, poured a chestnut brown with a off white head. Aroma is nuts and caramel. Taste is bitter fruits with a false caramel malt base. I believe this bottle might have been infected. It just does not seem right. Ober (1165), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands Jan 29, 2009 A little hazy, amber colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma is maltu with a little caramel, with tonsil, sweet and fruity. The taste has caramel with sweets, fruits, tonsil, some little toffee. There is a little bitter. The aftertaste is bittersweet. FatPhil (3449), Espoo, Finland Dec 17, 2008 330ml bottle - - Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam
Rich reddy brown, healthy head. Beautiful fruity aroma, but some yeasty malts there too. Soft palate, pleasant carbonation. Quite full with malts in the mouth, with retronasal esters aplenty. However, upon swallowing two waves creep up on you - first alcohol starts to waft around, and then secondly the bite of hops smacks you in the chops. I cannot say that I am getting dates, but the fruitiness is certainly of the dark variety. Malts are almost dubbel-like. The combination almost has a bit of dried mixed peel. Nothing exceptional, but altogether a very solid strong belgian-style ale, with classic Dutch hopping. Borresteijn (1351), Amsterdam, Netherlands Dec 8, 2008 Bottle at Arendsnest. Light amber coloured beer, off-white head. Lots of particles floating in it. Aroma of caramel, dates/sweet nuts, some yeast. Flavour is soft and sweet, nutty, dates, some fruits. Medium bodied. OK beer. ogivlado (3036), Zagreb, Croatia Sep 1, 2008 Bottled(330ml). -Hm, hm, what to think about beer with dates? To be honest nothing good or should I say something awful, but this one was really pleasant surprise. Very complex beer. Slight hazy dark golden/amber coloured, small white head, loads of sediment floating in the glass and bottle. The taste is very fruity, caramelish and mild alcoholic with obvious dates presence. Soft carbonation, sweet light alcoholic finish. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark May 5, 2008 Bottle @<a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/forums/cnudde-ølsmagning-og-møde-i-ulfborg 87114.htm target= new> Cnudde Tasting.. Clear medium amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, light yeasty, toffee, light alcohol, fruity. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (290308) xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA Apr 7, 2008 Cloudy orange amber with small white head. Aroma is very similar to many plain Belgian Strongs out there where the yast and malt is prominent and the strong alc is not even noticable. Flavor is sweet and yeast spice with some purple fruits. Medium body. Fine just not really outside the box.
