4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 JorisPPattyn (6728) - Antwerpen, - JUN 20, 2005
Rather well-aged Dark red-amber, rather than pale, full of UFO’s; thin yellowish-amber head. Very winey nose, sweet fruit drops, strawberry mixed with caramel. Again winey and fruity in the taste. Superb fruity and complex, especially retronasal. Could beat any "quadrupel" hands down. In the aftertaste, just a hint of bitter chocolate. Full bodied, slick, nearly viscous. Is this a tripel? Well, I couldn’t care less, honestly. It’s great - maybe just a tad too sweet in the start - and this after many, many years cellaring. Wow.

Reminded me of a French biere de’ garde .... LIKE Jenlain Blonde ,only with more booze and spice emphasis. Very earthy , with nutty maltiness . Sweet malt is rich ,t fruity esters are in an earthy spice. Very drinkable . Nice vibez overall.
