At Brewberry, Paris, October 2011. Opaque brown appearance. An abbey style with Belgian yeast. Lots of malt and dried fruit. Medium sweet, with more yeast in the finish. I found it to be more of a dubbel than a Belgian strong.

Been a while since I had this, don’t remember it and the only thing my notes say is that it smells sweet like kids’ candy.

The smell is quite good. Made me expect quite a lot. The taste can’t live up to that expectation. It’s a nice beer though, and i’ve ranked it quite high. Nothing really wrong with it.

Moderate head over light brown body. Promising sweet aroma with grapefruit, yeast, grass, champagne. Taste actually is more bitter and has a strange soapy back. I like the heavy carbonation but the flavour is a bit one sided. (2,50 EUR, 33cl bottle)

Most of this bottle promiscuously distributed itself in the form of a sweet but somewhat aggressive foam around the nooks and corners of my kitchen. When I had finally restored normality to the old homestead, I was left with just under a third of a pint of murky, yellowish brown liquid and some sediment. Now to rate it. Interesting fruity, vegetal aroma with fresh melon, unripe banana, coriander and something else very faint and rather attractive that could be lychee. Sweet taste, quite gentle and fruity, with hints of boiled sweets and troach (cough candy to you). Prickly carbonation was an ever present distraction. A little dryness in the finish. After early enmity, this beer ended up approachable and friendly.

29th September 2008. Cloudy brown beer. Sweet and sour start. A lot of zing which morphs in to a spicy mid. Very dry finish with a hint of marmite.

Picked up from Bacchanalia, Cambridge 03-10-09, consumed the following day at home. Pours a murky puddle brown. Some banana and spice in mouth. Drinks easier than strength would suggests. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov15 3.1

Bottle, bought @ Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam.
Pours muddy pale amber with a nice, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, lots of oranges, fruity, some yeast, soft caramel. High carbonation, fine light mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of clear fruit. Oranges, apricot, lemons, lightly vinious, some liqourice. Good malty sweetness. Alkohol is very well hidden.

Nice hazy copper coloured head with a thin white head. Aroma of fresh peaches, apricots, hops, malt and a bit of curacao and coriander seed. Medium-bodied; Sharp hop and fruit flavours come through at first with a good apple and coriander seed freshness. Aftertaste has some spice tucked into the malt and fruit flavours. Overall, a good, suprisingly complex beer! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased at BioMarkt in Amsterdam, Holland on 28-December-2007, sampled on 10-August-2008.

Bottle into tulip, ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam (3/2008). Glowing ruby apricot with fizzy foam mostly diminishing. Smells like madiera with dried apricot undertones. Fermented fruit syrup (but a light syrup) in the mouth with distinct strawberry sweetness. Apricots and ginger marmalade in finish. Tasty.
