This is an amazing aroma, and I seldom give 10! The deep fresh liqurice with honey is great. But the disappointment after tasting is big, as the taste is nothing special. The finish is thin. Dark body, small thick beige head. Bottled at arendsnest, Amsterdam.

Had this at Winterbierfestival Gouda 2011. Dark orange color. Smell sourness and spices. Taste as well, not my thing.

Cloudy dark brown beer. Soft palate, slightly dry. Light and sweet. Malty milk chocolate and lactose. Light and sweet.

Countbeer (1943) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2011
Bottle @ PWBF’11: Light off white head on top of a clear dark orange colored beer. Smell butter, sour, sweets and a hint of liquorice and spices. Taste bitter with fruits, hints of barleys, spices and sour. Low carbo and mid body.

Bottle. Black beer with a slightly reddish tinge and a very strong head. The aroma is bitter, roasted and slightly sweet chocolate, and the flavour is gently roasted and mildly bitter. Overall a nice roasted dark beer.

Caramel coloured pour, no head. Sweet aroma with caramel, wine, raisins, some liquorice. Unfortunately (almost) no carbonisation. Watery flavour with caramel, hops, distant fruits and spices.

Bottle at 17th PINT winterbier festival, Gouda. Pours clear orange to brown. Aroma of licorice, alcohol and fruits. Flavor is quite watery, bittersweet andof licorice and spices. Quite ok, but not very interesting.

Bottle. Dark brown with a a beige head. Aromas are chocolate and earthy, peaty coffee with vegetable and plastic. Flavours are sweet and spicy with thick chocolate on the palate. Lightly metallic with light alcohol burn. A bit thin in my opinion.

Bottled (CK, BBE 2009). Dark brown color, good beige head. Spicey aroma with ginger, black pepper and rubber, maybe a bit ashy. Medium-bodied. Caramel malty, spicey, a bit chocolaty flavor. Spices are odd and exotic, black pepper is the closest guess. Nutty and ashy too. Not my cup of tea.
