3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ingevara (711) - SWEDEN - OCT 30, 2012
Big head. Nice smell of hay and citrus. Malty body and rich in flavor, but more like an aerage english ale than a christmas speciality. I like it a lot anyway. My kind of beer.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 beikes (69) - Aarhus, DENMARK - JUN 25, 2012
Even though a seasonal, this christmas ale wins upon cellaring for one or two years. Drink it young, and it’s slightly boring and to the sweeter side, drink a year after it’s a good and somewhat complex bitter ale with hints of cinnamon, lemon and ginger. It’s supposed to accombany food, and goes well with traditional danish lunch like hering, pickled gherkins, apple-bacon and liver pate. Due to the slight oily feel, it gets too much on it’s own.
