Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 21, 2006 An amber pilsner? with a thick beige head - I think this is the darkest pilsener I’ve ever had. The aroma is sweet hoppy with a slight dusty touch from the hops - not too exciting, but not bad either. The flavor is sweet malty with slight notes of caramel, but also a boring note of hops, somewhat dusty, leading towards a somewhat dry and bitter end. The body is watery. I have no idea why this beer is needed in the Danish market - You can get discout pilseners much cheaper and almost as good or You can even get quality pilseners cheaper - this is a mistake. omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Nov 25, 2007 Bottled. Reddish amber, rich head. Sweet and creamy. Medium bodied with somebuttery malt and clean mouthfeel. Mildly malty with low bitterness. Not only does Harboe prove that they can brew a decent beer if they try, they also prove that they have absolutely no idea what a pilsener is. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 23, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful, clear amber with a small, off-white head. Malty aroma. Medium body dominated by malt and vague notes of caramel. Dry finish. Quite a decent pilsener. 210106 yespr (6373), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 19, 2007 50 cL bottle. Pours golden amber with a lasting off-white head. Caramel and pilsner malt aroma.
