Dark brown with fast dissapearing beige foam head, lacing to glass. Aroma is barley, but dominated by liquorice, strong. Aroma is again complex mixture of liquorice, raisins, bitter hops. Aftertaste is dry and bitter. (Velp 201301)

Almost clear dark amber with a moderate light tan swirl atop the glass.
Nose is dark malts, fruit rinds, toffee, light roast, must, hint of dried apricot.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Flaska från Der Beerkonig Amsterdam. Ganska ljus men lite smak av "red Ale"? En märklig blandning av söt och besk.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Simple one with a nice malty body and bit of caramel. Not too big in the alcohol with a bit too much carbo. Not really rocket science.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours out of the bottle in a deep dark brown colour with low steady head and medium body. Aroma of malt and caramel. Taste of malt, light Belgian yeast, bread, woods, torf and caramel. Light sweetish finish. Okay to drink, yet nothing special.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 7.7%
Deep red brown colour on the body, with one finger of thick off-white head on top. Collapses fast but a thick layer of foam remains on the top for quite long, so, good retention overall.Thick lacing around the glass.
Aroma is sweet, like a strawberry or some other -berry marmalade, very light raisins, only traceable after lots of effort and sniffing. Something dirty in it.
Taste is also sweet but not that bad actually. Stewed fruits, caramel, the raisins more notable but not exactly clear, more like a feeling that there is some dark fruits in there, but if it wasn’t on the label I couldn’t have guessed what exactly is. A minimal amount of bitterness on the aftertaste.
Medium thick body, good carbonation.
Overall an okay bock, my only objection the aroma.

Bottled 33cl Tnx Edo. Dark, almost opaque brown color, small off-white head, some lace. Ginger bread, cardboard, yeast, burned notes in the medicinal nose. Medium-bodied. Licorice, earth, spicey flavor with some alcohol. Not much hops. Homebrewish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Bockbier Festival in Amsterdam. Pours a near clear deep amber with a light brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has lots of notes of bread and dark grain with a touch of leaves. Flavor is similar with earthy bread and leaves and just a hint of sweet grain.
