Nice aromatic Witbeer. It has a great spicey taste and also a great bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from a Deen supermarket in Lelystad. Slow gushing. Frothy, fairly thick, egg-white, dense and moussy head on top of a misty ochre blonde beer with greenish hue, a tad darker than the standard witbier. Aroma of candied lemon, mandarin peel, unripe gooseberry, kiwi, canned pineapple slices, powder sugar, white grape, soapy wheat, lavender, vanilla ice cream, white bread. Crisp onset, fruity and estery with hints of kiwi, green apple, passion fruit and gooseberry, restrainedly sweetish but more predominantly sourish, strong carbo to the point of becoming almost overcarbonated even for this style adding a minerally, sourish effect; fluffy bready barley and soapy wheat make up the middle phase with ongoing estery fruitiness and sourishness but softly so, the latter drying a bit in the end along with some soft leafy hops providing a vague, structural background bitterishness, while the citrus peel fraîcheur accompanies the whole palate and yields pleasant retronasal aromas, leaving a soft lime accent in the end. Very refreshing beer, clearly a slight deviation of the Hoegaarden standard and thankfully without that eternal coriander seed, but there are many more like that (even in Belgium where the style comes from) so in that respect not too distinguished. Quite enjoyed it still, like most of this brewery’s products.

Aroma of wheat, yeast, peppery notes, lemon, coriander, spicy notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light sourish. A bit watery. Decent, quite drinkable Witbier.

Pours cloudy dark yellow with a receding, fizzy white head. Loads of residu. Nose is largely yeasty with some far spicy notes in it. Something earthy as well... Caramel malts well hidden... Fair. Taste is fairly strong, just like the name implies, but has a slight citric sweetness that is not that unpleasant, yet not that groundbreaking also. Ends quite dryish, flat and a bit on the earthy side, killing the wheaty flavors (banana) and the yeasty and spicy tones which is a bit disappointing. Watery mouthfeel as well. Too carbonated according to my opinion. Drinkable brew in general, but it has its more than clear misses. Fun to try, but nothing more.

Backlog rating. 33cl bottle at Caspar tasting at Chriso’s, London. It pours a hazy pale straw color with a small white head. Aroma is yeasty with notes of orange peel, cardamom, soap, hay, citrus leaves. Taste is ciutrusy and tangy, with notes of wheat, tangerine and grass. Finishes dry, floral and citrusy. Light bodied with good carbonation. Tasty and refreshing

Bit of a soapy head. Clean, minerally aroma. A bit too gassy. Slight floral, herbal taste. Light fruity tart and bitter finish.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2016 Bottle 33cl. Cloudy pale yellow, fair frothy white head, recedes after a while to a thinlayer, fair lacing; aroma wheat, yeast, pear, melon, citrus, somewhat buttery; taste light sweet and slightly sour, some citrus and coriander; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; light dry bitter finish, bit fruity, bit spicy. Not your typical witbier but nice anyway. Retasted 30/4/16 from tap @restaurant Blijburg. Because of the freshness slightly higher rating (from 3.3. to 3.4).
