Bottle at home. Aroma is pale malt, straw, light yeast, some spicy and herbal notes, a little pepper, grassy hops. Flavour is light sweet and a bit above moderate bitter. Body is medium. A very satisfying peppery unfiltered Pilsener.

Geur van augurk ? Mag frisser en crispy. Peper haal ik er moeilijk uit. Verder niet heel spannend.

Not enough pepper they could have added more bite. The pepper is really hard to taste. The pilsener is too sweet for my taste.

Weinig aroma....blond bier met flink wat koolzuur. Bitter maar verder niet heel veel smaak. De peper komt er als laatste in.

3/27/2011 5:24:44 AM Bottle from Bier Koning. Murky light gold body with small head. Nose of fruits, some citrus and hops. Taste is quite yummy with grapefruit, some sugar and notes of peach. Enjoyable summer beer!

Chili pepper flavoured pale lager - an ominous feeling creeps into my memory, whispering "Cave Creek"... This is thankfully a lot better: thick, sticky, dense, snow white head over a greenish pale blonde beer with light haziness. Aroma indeed breathes the crisp sharpness of freshly cut red pepper, along with flowers, sourdough, white bread, apple peel, even a vague hint of banana bread. Crisp malt fruitiness in the mouth but, expectedly, low in esters, a bit softer and lightly bready in the middle, some baker’s yeast, faint apple touch and then there it is: a soft and subtle but unmistakable ’piquanterie’ of fresh red pepper, not burning, but adding complexity and a tangy feel to the whole, pairing quite well with the soft leafy hop bitterness. More than just a gimmick like many more industrial pepper lagers: this is a noble Pilsener with even certain Landbier-like traits, in which the chili pepper is adequately applied to add an extra flavour instead of dominating everything. I kind of like this, and I am seriously becoming interested in anything else this brewery does.

Aroma: Fresh, malt, grain, citrus, hop, soap. Appearance: Turbid yellow/gold beer with a steady white head. Lots of bubbles thanks to the carbonation. Taste/Palate: Starts sweet and fresh, gets more bitter and ends spicy thanks to the pepper.

sweet malty and a bit of hoppy aroma. From the bottle, good carbonation. A tiny of vegetables but chili. A tinckling hop palate (from the chili?). Bitter and a bit malty aftertaste.

Very surprising Pilsener by the 7 Deugden. The Pilsener goes incredibly well with the spicey red pepper added. It makes this a spicey and refreshing beer.
