3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From bottle at Arendsnest on 5 April 2011. My first beer from this new brewery and, overall, a quite promising effort. Very dark colour. Good coffee & chocolate in the aroma. There’s just a hint of cooked vegetable which I sometimes liken to baked beans too. Some roast coffee in the flavour. Quite creamy, but dry mouthfeel. Looking forward to trying some more beers from this brewer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany with a big frothy creamy tan head. The aroma is of roasted malt and liqourice. The flavour is strong bitter with a liqource, malt, coffee, chocolate and red-berry fruit palate. I kinda liked this. I’m surprised the ratings are not higher.

Tap @ Wormer, small sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of chocolate, quite fruity of blackcurrant, slight spicy and earthy as well, hint of roast. Creamy texture. Slight sweet, slight bitter, bit dry. Very well balanced and a good try on an English stout. Good stuff.

Bottle from Douberd - many thanks! The beer pours out in a deep black colour with creamy, low head and medium to smooth body. Aroma of malt, roast and nuts. Taste of intense malt, leaves, woods, dark grains, chocolate and bitter coffee. Dark, roasty finish. Dry, medium bitter. Easy and nice drinkable with a earthy character. Nice one.

Quite a dark one with roasted malt, some coffee, a bit of chocolate and bit earthy in the end. Not a bad one but quite dull.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ home. Dark brown to black colour with a medium sized beige head that doesn’t last very long. Smells roasty, red fruits, slightly sour. Tastes roasty, sourish, some chocolate, hint of mint. Medium body, soft carbo. Kinda weird, not bad but also not how I prefer my stouts to be.
