Bottle from a bottle shop in Amstelveen. Murky dark amber body with thin, oily head. Nose of berries, malts and sugar. I was dreading this one - anything with berries worries me - but it’s not bad at all, quite yummy with some bite to it. Taste of fruits, caramel and slight bitter/citrus in the finish.

Nice beer with nice hints of elderberry, the bitter part of that. Rating is slightly lower because of the aroma and appearance but it’s one i would have again.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning, Vlier + Fluiter. Hazy brown colour, dense off white head. Aroma of sweet dark malts, dark fruits, milk chocolate, hint of berries. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, dark fruits, chocolate, light bitter malty and nutty finish with a hint of fruity alcohol. Fullbodied, above average carbonation, creamy. Nice abbey dubbel.

Brown color. Usual head. Smells nuts and malts. There is aroma of a nut, perhaps walnut. The aroma probably originates unusual combination of hops and malts resulting to somewhat bitter beer. In scale of bitter I’d say more than super market lager, less than typical IPA. The is some sweetness as well, which I think has to do with amount of alcohol. Overall pretty interesting beer, while I could not think of drinking this for three pints in row. This is that much exotic.
