Ungstrup (23961) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 23, 2010
Bottled. An amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of spices - star anise and cloves, as well as some notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and spices - especially star anise and cloves, leading to a dry spicy finish.

Papsoe (22987) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAR 23, 2010
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Spicy nose - a little ginger I believe with some phenols as well. Solid body, some fruit and caramel again with loads of gingery spiciness. Warming alcohol in the finish - quite some actually. 230310

Bottle, 8.5%. Very fruity aroma, berries. Cloudy dark amber colour. Almost no head. The flavour is sweet and spicy. Berries and a hint of aniseed. Actually not so bad. Perhaps too sweet, but with a good citric note.

bierkoning (8107) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - JUN 5, 2009
Bottle. Reddish brown color. peach, pear, coreander and ginger in the aroma. Malty flavor, sour with hints of pepper and coreander. A cherry like sourness. I think the sourness is probably unintented, but it works quite well in this beer.

MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - JAN 6, 2008
(33cl bottle) Hazy, copper colour with a short, light-beige frothy head. Moderately sweet, toast-malty aroma with caramel, spicy notes and a lighter plumy tinge. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly toasty and robust malty base; sweet and quite fruity (plums) finish with a light spicy touch and an almost brandy-like alcohol. Likeable.
