Bottled. Very nice and ballanced beer. Spicey. Made for the rembrence of a story about a dog Patrach and Nelo a boy. They are alone and have no food. A sad story known in Japan.

This was described to me as how Westmalle Dubble used to taste by the owner of the Belgian Beer pub I sometimes go to. I am a big fan of Westmalled Dubble, especially compared to the tripel. This was spot on. Excellent nose that reminded me of walking into Dairy Queen and ordering a Banana Sundae, complete with milk chocolate, cherries, caramel and of course bananas. The mouth didnt fail to deliver what the nosed promised. Smooth milk chocolate finish.

330 ml bottle. Pours a clear mahogany with big head. Aromas of sweet malts, raisins, copper and brown sugar. Flavors of raisins, light caramel, and malt extract. Nice lighter Belgian to go with dinner.

Brown coloured beer with small off-white head and no carbonation visible. Malty spicy and roasted aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is roasted sweet ending bitter.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a very thin, half centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, raisins, figs, nuts, earth, grapes and more pit fruits. Medium-bodied; Deep roasty malt flavours with a ton of pit fruit and basementy malt flavours with a little sweetness, some subtle fig notes and a bit of caramel, all with the roasted malt at play. Aftertaste shows a good balance of the malt and sweetness, but very little else - not too much complexity - tastes similar to an old ale, but the belgie qualities are hard to deny. I sampled this 33cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 30-June-2012 for 2,25 sampled at home in Washington on the other side of the pond on 10-August-2013, 12 hours before heading back to Belgium.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2011 Bottled. Copper-colored, hazy beer with a creamy, off-white head. Raspberries, caramel, fruits and cellar in the aroma. The flavor is fruity as well, with cellar-notes and some caramel. The body could be fuller, but it is a nice beer. Rating: 7-4-7-3-14-3.5. 060801

Bottle, at De Grotte Witte Arend. A hazy one, brown in color and with a decent beige head. Slightly milky nose, with dried fruits and some caramel. Sourish and milky flavor, lots of prune jam, some dark plums. Full body, decent carbonation. Seems off, still drinkable, but letting my old rating count. This rating: 5-3-5-3-11-2.7. 110429
