Aroma- Not great some fruit, overall starts off unimpressive. Appearance- Clear, reddish very attractive action. Flavor/Palate- One of the most unique beer I have ever tried. The combination of a raspberry lambic and De Block’s Kastaar leads to a beer that has no others in this style. Truly a great beer for those stepping off the beaten Belgian path.

An interesting brew this one is. It pours an almost rosey amber color w/ a decent head. Good hangtime revelas a thick, fluffy canopy of sticky lacing. Nice! Aroma is mild w/ cave like, musty, earthy, fruit. Light nectar w/ ample rsidual effers that expand on the paltate. Possesses persistant Champagne streamers that last the whole drink. The flavors can be described as earthy like wet leaves w/ necatarines. Block 6 has a mild acidic personality that balances it out well. Other nuances of sulpher and pomagranite. The finish is bittered well w/ an acidic component and has a lingering fruity essence. Overall: I really like this brew. The high carbonation and cave-like fruit flavors are very enjoyable. I highly recommend Block 6 if you are looking for a change of pace.

Pours with a red body topped by a thick, white head with a good amount of lacing. It’s sweet yet sour and full of apples with an underlying hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied and smooth with a touch of dryness.

Big ass fluffy head. Deepest orange with a strain of yeast running through it. Fizzy citrus on the first sip- almost like an orange soda. Really strange- but nice and refreshing.

Hazy light amber with a loose white head. Fruit and perfume aroma. Notes of pomegranite. Crisp and effervescent like a carbonated fruit juice. Relatively bitter and somewhat tannic in finish. Dry. It has a strange lingering oiliness. Pretty good though.

330 ml, bbe 2008/01/08. Cloudy, dirty copper with a large head that sizzles down to a lasting 1/2 inch of meringue with nice lacing. Aroma is raspberries (!) with honey, apple, and slight brown sugar. Flavor starts the same, with a nice drying finish that turns the flavor to tart apple, funky leather, caramel and slight dried wood. Light body is too fizzy, but very refreshing and dry. Unique and tasty, and I think this one would garner much better ratings in the fruit beer (or lambic) category, even if it doesn’t have fruit in it!

Bottle at the brewery
Reddsish, amber, quite clear body. Pinkish rocky head. Excellent lace. Aroma of yoghut, strawberry liquor, but just the aroma, not the alcohol. Moderately bitter, lightly sour flavour.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop was marked lot 0534211 BBF 01/08/2008. It poured a extremely large sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles with a pink hue that were mostly lasting and left behind a and a good lacing. The aroma was malty sweet doughy and mildly fruity raspberry. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mild vinous aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of sweet malt mild raspberry and a hint of chocolate. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

I’m a dissenter. I like this beer. Amber with a full, overflowing head. Aroma of light fruit, then the taste of malt and peaches - perhaps apricots. The finish lacks bitterness, which probably wouldn’t work here anyway, though there’s some spiciness at the tail of the finish. Except for my bottle being ever so slightly skunky at the extreme end of the finish, a fine beer especially for summer.
