( 330ml bottle thanks to mar best by 10-27-08, woah, over a year expired!) Pours a sickly pale pine with decent head. Nose of caramel, Boone’s Farm Strawberry Hill wine, and alcohol. Taste of artificial strawberries, potentially gone bad with a wonky aftertaste.

Pours hazy copper with a lasting white head. Aroma is sour apple, raisin, and yeast. Taste was a watery mix of vinegar and grape juice. Prickly carbonation.

Bottle from Half Time (2008/01/08). Pours a hazy, diry amber with a frothy 3 finger white head. Aroma is red berry fruity, but there’s something that made me think of Homocebrin (which had a little cod liver oil I think). Med body; frothy carb. I’m going with mixed red berry for flavor. Another weird departure in the Belgian beer world.

KyotoLefty (3752) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAY 24, 2011
Bottle from Asao. Cool label. Very fruity aroma, seems like raspberry, though the Japanese label says pomegranite. That also accounts for the color which goes oast amber to a reddish-orange. Lace on top. Fruity, sweet flavor with a golden ale malt character and a slight dryness near the finish. Prickly bitterness in the after taste. Sligtly beer-like though the fruit dominates. Dry, bitter finish saves it. Interesting. Tastes mainly like a fruit beer to me, but no wheere else have I seen mention of then pmegranite being added...

bouteille 33cl.

Complex and spicy over an interesting sweet base. Lots and lots going on here. Chewy esters and a light doughy spicy cinnamon.

ALLOVATE (1710) - Butler, WA, AUSTRALIA - JAN 5, 2011
Tasting from May 2008.
Pours a hazy, auburn copper stained with yeast proteins that settle to the base of the glass. Medial, bubbly, off-white head that is mostly lasting but leaves little legs. Medicinal cherry cough syrup and musky, rose-water and life-saver candy nose with a lick of blood oranges and leavened bread dough. Doughy, sweet caramel, vanilla and musk candy in the mouth becoming decidedly floral in back. Estery, fruit swallow has those tangy blood oranges of the aroma. A little woody, nut peelings in the aftertaste also. A firm body, moderate in carbonation and it’s well rounded flavour-wise - being the positives - but it just doesn’t play too well for me. Not altogether appealing or memorable. Just above the average! (33cL, BB 10/04/08, International Beer Shop, W. Leederville)

Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 30, 2010
Pours a golden body with a thinning filmy white head. Aroma is oxidized, paper, crackery malts, toast, raspberry seeds, cherry pits, cough syrup, medicinal. Flavor is too sweet, honey, simple syrup, mineral, chewable vitamin mineral and metallic with more oxidation- limp cardboardy stale malts. Bleh.

DruncanVeasey (5147) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - DEC 14, 2010
Bottle. Aroma of sock and cherry drops. Bit too much sock as it warms for my liking. Bright gold; slightly filmy with the bits, slim but persistent white lid. Flavour of cherry confectionery, wafers. Not unpleasant but empty.

MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - DEC 8, 2010
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, orange-golden colour with a big and persistent slightly off-white foamy head. Yeasty, slightly soapy and distinctively sour-fruity aroma with notes of citrus, elder- and raspberries, accompanied by a mildly malty background. Slightly sour and sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Soft (cara-)malty base with fruity notes and a soapy and slightly veggie touch; mildly sour and slightly perfumed fruity finish. Not very special. 07.XII.10
