Bottled. Worst appearance i’ve seen in a long time (but it explains the name of the beer though - "dense fog"): opaque orange coloured with a small head that dies in mere seconds. Aroma of honey, yeast and some fruit. Malty and pretty sweet and watery flavour, bit cloying after awhile actually. The alcohol, relatively high for the style, is shining through. Strongly reminds me of Leckere Witbier, another Dutch witbier with the same visual characteristics, although it’s been some time i’ve had that one. Not that great if you ask me.

(Bottled) Opaque yellow with a smallish, fizzy head. Very lemon-limey nose with coriander and orange-peel spiciness. Flavor is wheaty-limey with some sourness and light spiciness. Medium body, lightly fizzy carbonation. A bit lame maybe, but an OK wit. 4245

0,3 l fles. Goed bier maar geen witbier. Althans dat vind ik.

Bottle at Arendsnest. Yellow corny colour with nice head. Sweet, corny nose taste. Then turns malty. Peachy even. Other fruits in the mix, citrus, pineapple and even grapes.

Bottle, 6%. Sour, metallic aroma, perhaps some lemon. Cloudy orange colour. Big unstable white head. The flavour is a little better than the aroma, but still sewery and with an unpleasant sourness. High carbonation.

Bottled. After having couple of other De Boei beers I was afraid to try this one as well. So I kept in my cellar for about 8 months until Savad convinced me to share it with him (I’m sure his story will be different ;)). We were surprised. Not a drainpour but more like an amateur that did something right this time. Aroma of strange spices however (bit medicinal) and honey when warming up. Clear (wheatbeer?), almost amber, small diminishing head, few lace. Pretty sweet, light bitter, apple, little bit smoked. Sticky and flat.

Hazy orange with a smallish white head. Aroma is grassy, but with clear notes of wet cardboard, unfortunately. Sweet flavours, a bit orange, astringent finish. Medium-bodied, rather fizzy. Another disappointment from De Boei. If they were just as good to brew as they have been creating those labels...

certainly not great, but to compare it to "de Leckere Witbier" hmmmm(thats really bad...). orange hazy beer with a small head. aroma: sweetish, wheat, grainy, hints of EtOH. taste: grassy, grainy, sweet, spicy. medium body, low carbonation. finishes a bit sticky and sweet. too sweet for my likings!

JorisPPattyn (6728) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAY 2, 2005
Draught Greenish tinted orange hazy beer; head gone in secs. Fresh, milk-ripe grain or wheat, touch grassiness. Sweet-spicey bitter taste, grainy, malty, and, as said, spices (coriander is obvious). Light & watery texture, this is where this beer fails. No aftertaste at all. They ought to raise this final gravity. Then it would be really OK.

Hazy orange coloured beer. White head, disappears quickly. Dusty honeyish smell. Taste is somewhat sweet, some notes of honey, some herbs but too weak on the palate. Way too thin.
