Draft at the brewery: poured a brilliant clear copper with a medium beige head. Light malt and hop aroma. Mild yeast. Flavor is the same. Light caramel with some yeast and a touch of hops. Mild sweetness with a moderate sour finish. Good.

This was my favorite of the three offered on draught at the brewery. Very yeasty aroma like a prototypical Belgium beer. Good malty center. Smooth drinking beer.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 3fourths (6403) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 12, 2006
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2007 Draught
Consumed at Les Brasseurs de la Grand Place, Brussels, May 2006 This was called the Rouge. Clear ruby copper color. Taste is semi-crisp, sugar coated. Sour, almost spoiled in the nose, not very good. Grainy, sour, lactic acidity in the finish. Not enjoyable.

Amber in color with a small white head that quickly disapates. Caramel residual sugar flavor and aroma witha dry finish.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 19, 2005
Amber coloured with white lacing head, rosey hues. Nice malt aroma with honey notes, and later, diacetyl/butterscotch. Crisp malts and hops in mouth with nutty notes. Rather thin for my liking. May 2005.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 dhurtubise (568) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 1, 2003
Ambre was an excellent beer heavy with spices (paradise seeds (peppery), corriander and curacao). Very aromatic.
